An Alpha's Pride (Jamie and the Alpha Book 2)

      Starting the first quarter Elaine was almost overwhelmed with excitement at she took the field against the Portland State OddBalls. She may only be starting in the first half but like before she was going to make the most of this opportunity and make a case to be considered to go on the road with the team in their next series of games. 

      Lining up in the backfield at safety Elaine watched the opposing offense take their positions with three receivers to her left and two to her right.

          "Screen, Screen, Screen!" Carter called out making the defense shift their formation as the qb snapped the ball and threw it to one of the two receiver on Elaine's right.

      Catching the ball the fast footed receiver waited a moment for his blockers to run in front of him, then ran with momentum until he was blindsided by all six foot seven two hundred and fifteen pounds of Carter Matthews blowing him to the side out of bounds making it second down and five.

      The crowded and his teammates roared at the violent hit as the defense got their next set of instructions.  

      Coming back out of the huddle Elaine once again lined up in the backfield as the Oddballs offense lined up with one receiver and tight end to her left and the qb's running back lined up to her right beside him.

      Snapping the ball the qb took note that one of the cornerbacks that was defending his tight end had lost his footing and so the alpha threw a bullet of a pass to his teammate before he turned up field for the first down and more. Making his way to the Rhino's own forty yard line until he was cutdown by Elaine who tackled the man by his legs from behind.

      Shaking off the dirt from her jersey Elaine jogged back to the huddle where a heated team Capitan met her with venom in his voice.

          "You can't be slipping Krane! Get it together." he chastised the cornerback before he turned his attention to her.

          "And you freshmen! You're the fucking safety you can't let him turn up field like that!"

         "I got it." she nodded before they where told their next formation.

      For the third time Elaine lined up in the backfield as the offense lined up with three receiver to her left and two tight ends to her right.

      Noting their formation couldn't fully cover the offense their captain attempted to change their it but was cutoff as the qb hiked the ball and quickly threw to one of the receiver to his right the was crossing in the middle of the field.

      Making a man miss the receiver pumped the breaks making Cater tackle the air in front of hime as he turned up field.

      Hurdling a would be tackler he landed and attempted to once again continued his trek upfield before he was met with a shoulder that hit him at full speed square in the chest landing him on his backside.

      Shaking his head he looked up and expected to see one of the linebackers standing above him from the force of that hit but was surprised to see Elaine standing above him cracking her neck as she jogged back to the huddle.  

      After a few more quick passes the Oddballs where now on the Rhino's own five yard line and poise to score.

       Using a fast tempo to keep the defense on their toes the OddBalls lined up in a tight formation with two receivers to the qb's right and one to his left with a running back lined up beside him on his right as he took note of the wherry and tired Rhino's defense as their captain tried to direct everyone into their positions.
