"Chicken pox? People can still get chicken pox?" Jamie asked as his pups continued to cry loudly.

"Apparently, but I'm not a doctor." his grandfather shrugged, "Could just be a rash." the big man said as he held the crying Ella, her leg a canvas of red dots.

      Jamie rubbed his tired eyes.

"More drama..." he groaned internally, feeling the pressure of yet another "catastrophe".

As much as he hated to admit it, it wasn't getting easier with Elaine being gone. In fact, he was already a month behind on his assignments and tests. The only reason his family didn't know was because the school board recognized the challenges he was facing and was considerate enough to show some leniency.

Unfortunately though, he had recently been told by JJ and Lucas that such things wouldn't last long. Especially if he wanted to get enough credits to go to a good college himself.

The stress kept on piling up, one after the other.

"Hey son don't worry, just make an appointment with your pediatrician and we'll see what they have to say." his grandfather suggested as he stopped little Ella from scratching at her leg which caused the screaming devil to start screaming in frustration.

"Right, right....I should probably call Elaine too right? Let her know what's wrong?" he asked the old alpha.

"I wouldn't." he suggested, "At least, not until you know exactly what's wrong with them. No need to worry her unnecessarily."

"O-Ok. Can you look after them for a but while I call our doctor?" he asked already dialing the number.

"Sure, and go get yourself something to eat. Looks like you can use it." he suggested and the omega boy quickly dialed his doctor, made an appointment as bounced downstairs where his mother and grandmother both where in the process of making breakfast.

"Oh man did Ella wake you up too?" Jamie said, guilt clutching his heart.

"Jamie, its not a-" Martha started to say before Ruth cut her off with a strong and annoyed "Yes."

"I am so sorry, I've been trying to keep them quiet." he said grabbing a banana and taking a seat at the bar of the kitchen counter.

"It's ok sweetie it's just part of the process of having kids. They cry, a lot." the red headed alpha said in good spirits while Ruth looked less convinced.

"Maybe so, but this has to be something else." the old omega stated, "I'm sure their mother being two states away surely isn't helping." she added with a disapproving shake of her head. "I can't believe you allowed her to leave. Making your son to take care of her pups alone." the older woman said judgingly at Martha.

Jamie squinted at that. Sure Elaine hadn't been around as much as he and his pups would've liked but she called him every night to say hi and even texted him her full schedule so he knew when the best time to call or text her was. So hearing his grandmother talk bad about his mate didn't sit well with him, even if she had a point.

"Actually grandpa things Ella has chicken pox." he said with a bit of a huff, " I already called the pediatrician and set an appointment for eight today."

"Chicken pox? How the hell did you let that happen?" the woman asked looking over to Jamie's mother who was taken aback by the news herself.
