"Are you coming or are you just gonna sulk all day, again?" Travis asked Jamie sarcastically whilst he combed his hair, Max next to him getting ready himself.
Jamie didn't answer.
He just continued to give his pups their baths.
Tonight was one of Sarah's volleyball games and she had asked him to come so he'd have a reason to leave the house. He hadn't promised if he would. He didn't know if he could be out and around people while he still felt like his world was in ruins.
"I...I don't know." he said honestly and pulled the drain, allowing the water to leave the tub.
Unreceptive to their fathers troubled thoughts little Ella and Tony continued to play in the water.
That did make him smile.
It had been a full week sense Elaine broke the news of what she'd done and Jamie still didn't feel like he'd processed it.
Elaine was his alpha, his mate, the mother of his pups and the person he trusted to have his back and to fight for him no matter the consequences. So when she said she'd cheated Jamie just couldn't believe it.
He remembered that he once joked and said that he would've "burned the house down" if she ever cheat on him but he didn't want to burn anything down. No, he just wanted to see Elaine again because even now after what she'd done, he still loved and missed her.
Missed seeing her with his their pups and his family. Missed how she'd tease and poke him just to make him squirm. Missed how her lips felt on his own as she pinned him against the bed and made love to him like he was all she ever needed in life. Her lips would seal on his so tight and so possessively that she would literally steal his breath away.
He missed that.
"I don't know, I'll probably just stay here and sulk a little longer." Jamie huffed, giving his pups on last rinse and pulled Ella out of the tub to dry her off.
"Freaking Omegas, you're always too damn emotional." Travis scoffed putting his comb back.
Jamie didn't retort no matter how much his wolf objected to his brothers statement. Because on some level he was right. Omega's were naturally more emotional than alpha's, that's why it's generally easier for alpha to fuck their way through so many omegas on a regular basis while Omega's latched onto the most suitable alpha that showed them any interest.
"Which explains why Elaine could fuck some random beta girl while he was at home looking after their pups", his wolf thought dangerously.
"I mean come on dude, she was in her rut. You have no idea what that feels like." his brother, clearly not done with his opinion, said.
"I think I have a pretty good idea." Jamie did shoot back annoyed by his brothers words.
"What, just because you go through your hets you think you know what it's like?" Travis rolled his eyes leaning against the bathroom counter.
Jamie didn't answer.
"Would you shut up Travis." Max groaned, "I'm trying to shave here not hear you talk out your ass." he rolled his eyes.
"Max." Jamie said almost exasperated.
He had gotten tired of expecting his family, let alone his own siblings, to remember to watch their language around his pups. He wasn't however above calling them out when they did.
