If it wasn't for Max Elaine would've done what her wolf demanded.
In a split second the big male was standing in front of Jamie, Ivy and the pups arms up in a calming fashion. His big body acting as a human shield to protect his brother, friend and niece and nephew.
In truth she didn't hear what he said, only that he seemed to be defending this alpha that held HER pups like her own. And that was all the motivation her wolf needed to grow angry.
"Put. Them. Down." she said, her voice growled again as her hands formed into fist. Ready to go through her brother-in-law to get her pups away from this new alpha.
"Elaine relax she's-"
"Put. My. Pups. Down. Now." she warned again, her accent seeming their way into her words as she cut Max off.
"Elaine, baby wait, wait wait." Jamie said stepping in front of Max his arms up in the same calm manner as his brother.
"That's Ivy, you know the friend I was telling you about. The one that's been staying over some nights this past week?" Jamie tried to remind her.
That got Elaine and her wolfs attention.
Against her wolf's wishes she stopped in her advance and looked at Jamie while her wolf took in the scents of the air.
The beast could in fact scent that the alpha had been staying here for quite a few days like her mate had claimed.
As an alpha Elaine was not only more physically stronger, faster and all around more 'gifted' than omegas, she was also bless with a superior sense of small that made it very hard to hide the presents of another alpha being near their mate. And, depending on the alpha, how much time has passed. Their senses were at times also strong enough to catch the scent of a beta that may have spent time around their mate. Even when they were notorious for having a small "foot print" as it were and made it easy for alpha's to have an affair with without getting catch.
Like she did.....
That thought somewhat snapped her out of her rage like a cold shower.
With another deep cleansing breath Elaine looked back to Jamie and said, " Ok, but why is she holding my pups. Strange alpha's don't get to hold my pups meu amor." she said voice calming, her rage turning not only to guilt but also fear of being replaced with an alpha that appeared stronger and bigger than her.
"It's because they only seem to fall asleep in her arms." Jamie said nervously, "I swear nothings going on, they just go to sleep so easy when she holds them that I figured there wasn't much harm in it."
Elaine once again took a deep breath, the unintentional sting of his words striking her chest like lightning.
"They used to do that only for me...." she thought to herself, guilt seeping it's way into her chest again.
"Please. P-Put my pups down, Ivy." she asked a third time, keeping her alpha's voice out of her tone. Her rage now faded.
"Uh, sure." Ivy nodded and softly placed the two of them down into their swinging seats.
"Thank you." the Brazilian alpha said looking away.
"Can....you give me and my mate a minuet, please." she asked and Ivy looked to Max unsure.
