Despite her impressive start to the game Elaine wouldn't get another chance to make a impact in the first quarter before it ended. Ending her time in the spotlight Elaine watched from the sidelines as the OddBalls offense would tire out the Rhino's defense making the final score a washout of 30-13 making the Rhino's 1-2 on the season.

After showing and changing in the teams locker room Elaine checked her phone and noticed she got a text from Jamie.

--------------------------------------------------------

J: You did great out there!!

That interception....Amazeballs!!

------------------------------------------------------

Laughing the alpha girl responded.

------------------------------------------------------

E: Did you just say Amazeballs?

Literally no one says that anymore lmao

J: Well I do and I think what you did was.....AMAZEBALLS!!!!

Me and the pups were so proud.

E: Aw, thanks amor.

She texted back with a stupidly happy smile on her face leaving the locker room.

"You just got your ass handed to you and you're over here smiling. I guess the super rookie is gracious in defeat." Trish said with laugh.

"Well what can I say, you win some you lose some." she shrugged still texting Jamie.

"You certainly do." the beta girl said looking her up and down quickly as the Brazilian alpha was distracted by her phone.

"Well I hope the loss won't affect our plans to meet up for dinner tomorrow to thank you for all your hard work as my bitch." the smile seductively twirling a strand of her hair with her finger.

"Oh yeah, about that. It seems like my mates expecting some company from his extended family so since I didn't make the cut for the road team being a freshmen and all and since I don't have any test in my next few classes, I'll probably be flying back home to help him with the pups while they're there, so rain check on that dinner ok." she told her putting her phone away.

"You are a very hard alpha to pin down you know that." Trish said with smile.

"Yeah well that happens when you forget to pull out and your mate gives you two twins." Elaine quipped winking a goodbye to the girl as her team captain came out of the locker room watching the exchange with a very pissed off expression on his face before heading to his dorm.

Once Sunday rolled around Elaine met Martha, Jamie and the pups. After a ceremonies kiss from the young couple the three of them drove back home where they readied the house for company which was coming Monday.

"So do you mind telling me how they can afford to just come over from New York to California for two weeks, like don't they have jobs." Elaine asked her mother in law as the two changed her pups.

"Well, they all work except for Luther's mother who's mostly a stay at home mom until he and his three brothers got old enough to go to college and she's been doing humanitarian work to pass the time. So technically Jamie's grandmother is the only one whos actually staying for two weeks. Everyone else is only staying for a maximum of four days before they go back to work." the scarlet haired alpha told her, propping little Tony into her arm.

"Anything I need to look out for? Last time I met them it was for a week and I don't honestly remember them all that much" Elaine asked clamping Ella's diper in place and holding her in her arms softly, booping her on the nose.

"Let's just say the Lawsons family can be very challenging for people like us." the older alpha said tired.

"People like us?"

"Orphans." she clarified, "It can be a lot to someone who's not used to that kind of family dynamic." she warned her.

"I didn't know you were an orphan." Elaine said with some shock in her voice.

"You never asked." Martha smiled her sweet smile putting Tony into his crib as Elaine did the same.

Turning to leave the room Martha was stopped by Elaine who caught her hand and pulled the older alpha back into the room.

"Hold on now, you can't just drop a bomb like that one and walk away. I want details." Elaine said taking a seat on her bed as Martha snickered before joining her.

"There's not much to tell. I grew up in a church run by nuns until I presented as an alpha then I was sent off to a all alpha boarding school were I got high enough grades to go to a college in New York." she shrugged.

"And you don't get along with the big mans family?" Elaine asked.

"I get along with them fine, it's just when we were both in college a lot happened and lets just say I ruined his families plans when we became mates and we got off to the wrong foot." she told her with a tired shrug as memories of the first few years of the lives came to the for front of her mind.

"Just do your best to keep your head down and just try our best to let things go ok. They're only going to be here a few days and his grandmothers gonna be to busy criticizing me to give you to much grief." she said sarcastically.

"Sure thing." Elaine said with a nod as the two shut the lights off for the pups nap as the family continued to clean the house.

Guess it was time to meet the family.
