A lot of people were either deemed Heroes or sidekicks.  Even Layla was classified as a sidekick because she didn't want to use her powers.  Then Boomer pointed to Angel.  “You, your next!”  He said.  Angel looked at me.  “Wish me luck Luna.”  She said.  I muttered 'good luck' as she left.  “What's your power?”  Boomer asked.  Angel smiled.  “I can show you, take my hand.”  She offered, holding her hand out.  Boomer took a second, before touching her hand.  “Oh no.”  I whined, covering my ears.  Luckily, Angel didn't seem to use the full extent of Coach Boomer's ability.  Only the windows shattered.

“Power replication.  Hero!”  Boomer yelled.  Angel came back, clearly happy.  I smiled.  “That's great Angel.  I'm happy for you.”  I told her.  As it turned out, I should have been worried for myself as well.  “Dandelion, your turn.”  Boomer said, getting everyone's attention.  He was pointing right at me.  Now everyone was looking at me.  “Look at that hair.”  Someone whispered, not knowing I could hear them.  Angel gave me a thumbs up.  Layla offered a small smile.  “We don't have all day.”  Coach Boomer said impatiently.

I walked up, standing on the small stage.  I looked at the coach.  “I don't think this is necessary.”  I told him softly.  “You don't think it's necessary?  Just show us your power and step down.”  Boomer ordered.  I didn't know how to show my power, that was the thing.  Boomer sighed.  “Car!”  He yelled, clicking the button on his remote.  I yelped, ducking.  I cried out slightly.  The car landed right on my leg.  Now my leg was bent almost directly to the side.

The other kids groaned, someone gagged.  “Luna!”  Angel exclaimed, running up.  I whined softly, wincing.  “Someone call the nurse and Principal Powers.”  Coach Boomer ordered.  I shifted my legs slightly.  Angel winced herself, touching my shoulder.  I took a breath, pushing my leg to set straight again.  I heard another kid gagging again.  I exhaled slowly, letting my arms drop.  Now there was another problem.  I had no idea how long my leg would take to heal.  After a few moments, Principal Powers and who must have been the nurse came.  The other freshmen were told to leave, but Angel didn't want to.  “What happened here, Boomer?”  Powers asked.

“She didn't move and the car fell on her.  What does it look like?”  The coach replied harshly.  The nurse bent down, reaching towards my leg.  “Watashi ni furenaide kudasai! (Don't touch me!)”  I hissed.  The nurse pulled back, confused.  Angel came over.  “She said she doesn't want anyone touching her.”  She translated.  Powers crouched down.  “Luna, we have to get you to Nurse Spex's office so we can call your mom.  You need to go to the hospital.”  She tried telling me.  I shook my head.  I took a breath.  “I don't, trust me, Principal Powers.”  I replied, sighing.  I held my breath again, moving my leg slightly.  There was some pain, but nothing compared to when that car was on me.  I looked at Angel.  I breathed out again slowly.

“Okiagaru no o tetsudattekudasai, Enjeru onegaishimasu. (Help me get up, Please Angel.)”  I asked her.  Angel shook her head.  “Anata wa mada kizutsuite imasu. Runa, anata no iyashino-teido wa mada wakarimasen. Chansu o nogasanai koto ga saizendesu. (You're still hurt.  We don't know the extent of your healing yet, Luna.  It's best to not take any chances.)”  She replied.  I moved to stand up, prompting Angel to stop me from falling.  “I didn't take you to be a stubborn one.”  She told me.  I let myself laugh slightly.

I looked at my leg, which I'd kept off the ground just to be cautious.  I put it down slowly, wincing in advance.  There was some soreness now, but little pain.  I leaned off Angel, which made the whole room silent.  “Incredible.”  The nurse muttered.  She took her glasses off.  Red beams came from her eyes, scanning my leg.  “It's almost completely healed.”  She announced, putting her glasses back on.  Literal x-ray vision.  Pretty cool.
