The grass shot up, twisting around Angel’s foot.  She gasped.  “You?!  You're supposed to be a sidekick!”  She hissed.  I growled, pulling the grass down to make Angel touch the school grounds again.  “I am a sidekick!”  I hissed.  Angel broke the grass, flying back up.  A fireball shot past me, hitting her.  Warren ran up, gathering another one already.  I took a few steps forward, feeling the water rushing through the pipes under my feet.  I raised my hands, snapping the pipes.  The water rose from the ground, taking parts of the stone with it.  A hand grabbed my wrist.  The water and stone fell back into place.  Somehow, I knew the pipes fused back together.  It was Warren who grabbed my hand of course.  “Not like this, it's way too dangerous.”  He warned.

Angel laughed.  I felt her grab my arm, yanking me into the air.  I yelped.  Warren almost fired again, but didn't.  “If you ever think about doing something, or I will drop her, don't test me.”  Angel threatened, holding me over open air.  I whined softly, trying not to look down.  Layla finally put the shield I made down.  She gasped.  “Let her go!”  Layla yelled, running over.  A vine shot out, grabbing my arm.  Angel burned through it.  She smirked.  “If you say so.”  Her voice said.  She let go.  I yelped, my hair flying into my face as I fell.  “Luna!”  Layla cried out.  It was a second voice that snapped me out of my daze.  A deep “No!” that could only belong to one person.

Warren Peace.  He… Cared.  I managed to turn myself over so I could see the ground.  I lifted my arms slightly, but nothing happened.  I was getting way too close to the ground now.  Any moment now would be fine by me!  I felt a bolt of lightning strike my dress, burning part of it.  Instead of going down still, I slowed down until I stopped completely.  Everything got bright again, but it didn't fade away like the last time.  I felt a breeze blow, pushing me up.  My hair flew back slightly, but it was still all over the place.  I heard Angel's laugh, seeing multiple fireballs cascade over the edge of the school grounds.  I cast a cloud around Angel, blocking her view of me, and blocking anyone's view from the school.

Angel turned to fly away, finding herself face to face with the very person she just dropped off the edge.  “You!?  You're supposed to be dead!”  She accused.  I growled, pushing her away from me.  “Anata wa watashi ni uso o tsuita. Watashi wa anata o shinrai shi, anata wa watashi o uragitta. Watashitachiha tomodachidatta kamo shiremasenga, anata wa kono michi o erabimasu. Anata wa akuyaku no michi o susumu koto o sentaku shimashita, soshite ima anata wa sore o kōkai surudeshou. (You lied to me.  I trusted you and you betrayed me.  We could have been friends, but you choose this path.  You choose to go down the villain path, and now you'll regret it.)”  I growled.  Angel flew back a little more.  “You're a sidekick, you can't fly.”  She started, firing a lightning bolt at me.  I deflected it, growling.

“You stole my mother's power.  You don't think Will's the only student in Sky high with two superheroes as parents, do you?”  I swore, casting a tornado to disorientate her.  Angel stopped it pretty quickly.  “You?  You have two superhero parents?”  She realized.  The clouds darkened.  I growled again.  I could hear someone asking what was going on from outside the school.  My hair flew back slightly.  A mirror flew through the clouds.  That was strange on its own.  As it passed, I caught a glimpse of why everything seemed bright.  My eyes were glowing.  One was white and the other was black.  I did have my mother's power… But Angel didn't give up so easily.  I shot a bolt of lightning straight up, arching it towards Angel again.  Silently, something flew under the school and below us.

It got to the point we were both tired and out of breath.  But there was one thing I hadn't tried.  I wasn't sure it would work though.  I brought my hands closer together, focusing on the water in the air.  I hoped this worked.  I'd be in huge trouble if it didn't.  I opened my hands slowly, feeling something between them.  A ball of water was forming.  I looked at Angel, who kept an emotionless face.  I pulled the clouds closer together, making the water ball larger.  This was insane.  My mom never did this.  I wasn't even sure that she could.  The remaining clouds rumbled, a storm was going to start soon.   I released the water, letting it float in the air in case I needed to use it.

I knew the atmosphere was reacting with all the energy we were expelling.  Clouds we're forming without us even making them.  Angel was closer to the school than I was.  I looked her in the eyes.  “Last chance, Angel.  Give me The Pacifier.”  I ordered again.  Angel looked at it.  “We will just have to see what kind of Hero you are.”  She said smugly, throwing the ray gun before she started falling herself.  I gasped, diving after her.  I grabbed Angel's arm, slowing her fall.

“What are you doing?!”  She yelled at me.  Her eyes showed something they hadn't been before.  They showed fear.  She was scared.  I pulled her up.  “Making sure you don't fall to your death.”  I replied, grunting.  I saw the ray gun, it was falling fast.  I looked back up at where the school was.  I waved one hand slowly, making the remaining clouds move away from the school but keeping Angel and I from sight for now.  My signal.

“What about The Pacifier?”  Angel asked.  I shook my head, flying back up slowly.  Did she think I was gonna let her fall to the ground just to grab The Pacifier?  “That's just a ray gun.  You're a living person.  I wasn't deemed Hero like you were, but I'm proud to be Hero Support.”  I replied.  I glanced down, smiling.  “Besides, I think Will caught it anyway.”  I added as he flew up with The Pacifier.  Angel gasped.  “But how?”  She asked.  I met Will's eyes.  He held up a piece of paper, smiling now.

‘Fly under the school if Layla tells you I went off the edge.  Wait for the clouds to move away from the school first.’

That's right around when a hollow ringing sound picked up.  It got progressively louder too.  Angel sighed.  We flew up.  I let Will land first, coming up just after he did.  I made sure Angel touched the ground before landing myself.  My mom was outside.  “Hanī, daijōbudesuka? (Honey, are you okay?)”  She asked.  That ringing sound got a whole lot worse at that moment.  I nodded slowly, the lights fading.  “E e, watashi wa fidesu - (Yeah, I'm fi-)”  I started, before everything blacked out.

I'm not sure how long it was before I even heard something again.  It was a soft sound, like a door closing… or maybe it was a breeze.  What I knew right away, was that I wasn't at Sky high anymore.  A soft sigh came.  “Watashi wa anata o totemo hokori ni omotte imasu, sutā. Kesshite sore o wasurenaide. (I'm so proud of you, Star.  Never forget that.)”  They said.  That was my mom's voice.  The presence in the room left, followed by a hushed conversation on a different floor.  I opened my eyes slowly, whining as a headache came full force.

I swung my legs off the bed, almost falling trying to get up.  The door swung open, I whined at the sound.  There was a gasp before someone helped me stand.  My vision was blurred, but I could tell who it was.  “M-mom…”  I whined.  I was put back on the bed.  My mom put her hand on my forehead, it felt cool.  “You're burning up.”  She muttered, surprised.  I never had a real fever before.  But I could feel it, the burning sensation.  “What h-happened?”  I asked softly.  My mom sighed.  “You passed out.  You used too much energy stopping that girl, Star.  I brought you home so you could rest.”  She explained gently.  I heard her leave, water running.  Something cold touched my forehead.  It felt nice though.  I closed my eyes for a second.

I opened my eyes again slowly.  “How long… How long has it been?”  I queried quietly.  My mom took a few moments to answer.  “About a week.”  She answered back.  A week?  Everyone must be so worried.  Warren… Did Warren know I survived the fall?  Or did he think I died from it?  I groaned.  “Do the others know?”  I asked, meaning the rest of the kids at school.  My mom put one hand on mine.  “Your friends do.  The ones that came to see you at least.”  She told me.  See me?  Did… did they come to see me?  “Who came?”  I asked, curious now.  My mom laughed lightly.  My vision was clearing up now.  I could see her smile.  “Layla and Will.  Layla's come the most.  Zach, Ethan… And another girl.  I can't remember her name, but she had purple in her hair.”  My mom started listing.

I knew who that was.  “That's Magenta.”  I relayed.  My mom nodded.  There was a ringing sound from downstairs.  I didn't recognize the ring tone. “Who else is here?”  I asked.  My mom smiled softly.  “Watashi wa anata ga chōdo megasameta no o shitte imasu. Shikashi, karera wa anata ni au hitsuyō ga aru to iimashita. Watashi wa karera no namae o shutoku shiyou to shimashitaga, karera wa watashi ni oshiete kuremasen. (I know you just woke up.  But they said they needed to see you.  I tried getting their name but they won't tell me.)”  She explained.  They wouldn't give her their name?  Who would do that?  It was odd, to say the least.
