Chapter 12: Homeward bound

_*_*_

The next days, went by in a blaze, that's how busy Kai and Aria had been.

As soon as the packers came the peaceful mornings and intense evenings were over, as they came at 9 in the morning and left at 8 in the evening, resulting in both Aria and Kai being too tired to stay up much longer.

Now it was the last night in her apartment and Aria couldn't help but feel a little bit of nostalgia in her, when she looked at the empty rooms that had been her home for over four years.

All of her things were on the way to a storage room while she was still on the look for a place to stay.

To be fair she had been ignoring that problem for the past days. But now that the government had set new lockdown restrictions, there was not an available hotel in the whole of London.

Currently Aria was sitting on the sleeping pads Kai and her had draped in the former living room. She was scrolling through endless hotels, called twice as many numbers and was always sent off with a "I'm afraid we can't take people in due to the lockdown."

Kai pretended to be scrolling though Instagram but actually he was closely watching Aria, who was sitting in front of him.

After her 28th decline she put down the phone. "This is absolutely hopeless." The actress said frustrated.

Kai looked up.

"Okay Aria I have the craziest idea ever and you can totally say no but I've been thinking about it for quite some time now. To be more specific since-"

"Kai!", Aria interrupted his rambling with a giggle. "What is it?"

"WhyDon'tYouMoveInWithMe?"

"What?" The girl thought her ears payed a trick on her.

"Move in with me Aria Webster. I've been living with you for the past week and obviously it worked out really, really well.

The new Corona restrictions don't allow us to see anyone, so we can't even see each other for god knows how long, if we live apart.

And let me be real honest with you: These nights we spend together were the most peaceful nights I've had in a very long time and I know you had too. I am not going to lie to you, I need you around all night, every night.

And even if that is too much for you, I still have a guestroom you can use and we would have different baths and the flat is big enough for both of us because I initially bought it for two people anyways."

He didn't dare to look Aria in the eyes and there was a stunned silence.

"Are you being for real? Because you didn't even need those arguments. I would love to move in with you." The girl confessed and Kai let out an relieved breath.

"Then you are officially moving in with me." He smiled.

Aria tackled him in a huge hug. "I don't know what I'd do without you, Havertz."

"Luckily you'll always have me."

And that's how Aria Webster decided head over heels that she'd be moving in with her best friend.

They were laying in each others arms. Kai noticed that her hair smelled like coconut. He had never been a fan of flowery scents and Aria smelled like fruits.
