Chapter 49: GUESS I'M IN LOVE

They got five minutes extra time but Manu kept the goal clear and finally, finally the whistle was blown.

The team sprinted onto the pitch and it took everything in Arias willpower to not follow them.

Instead she gave Papa Jogi a big hug.

"I knew you'd show up eventually." He mumbled into the embrace and and Aria chuckled.

Kai was buried somewhere under twenty other bodies and Aria couldn't see him.

It seemed like forever until the cup was handed and they had taken enough photos, before friends and family members were allowed onto the pitch.

Aria could use the sprint as her audition tape for 'The Flash' that's how she flew onto the field

And there Kai was, holding his arms open.

But instead of flying into a bone crushing hug, Aria pulled his face down and kissed him like she had never kissed anyone.

Kai stood frozen for a second, caught by surprise before his brain registered what happened.

He closed his arms around her, the giant Germany flag he had been wearing like a cape, blocking the cameras from showing this intimate moment to the world.

Between her kisses Aria mumbled everything from apologies over curses to congratulations and Kai couldn't do anything but kiss the life out of her.

It was nothing like first kisses were supposed to be. (but technically it wasn't even their first kiss)

Just their first kiss without any drugs consuming their bloodstream or either one of them crying.

Yet this kiss was so much more intoxicating. The footballer got drunk on the burning sensation Arias lips left on his skin and her hands closed behind his neck, fingers playing with his hair.

He could taste the cherries of her lipstick and the salt of her tears on her lips. And he felt Aria pulling herself closer to him because she felt like her legs would give in any second.

Slowly Aria pulled away and looked up. "I am so sorry."

"Let's not talk about this here, Aria." Kai answered and pecked her on the lips one last time.

"Get a room you two!" Julian laughed and Kai turned around to embrace his best friend in a hug while Aria wandered off congratulating the rest of the team that she had grown so close to over the past few months.

The adrenaline and euphoria that was rushing through her body and it all felt like a bad quality movie.

Eventually she found herself back in Kais arms for photos and whatnot, though his hand was so secure on her waist she had the feeling he would never let her go again.

And maybe she was right.

Celebration after Interview after Photos after Celebration Aria found herself cuddled against Kai in the DFB Bus, brining them back to the hotel, where the real party would begin.

"I still can't believe you've been around the entire time." Kai said for the fifth time that day.

"I'll see you at the party, idiot." Aria said instead of an answer and closed her hotel room before Kai could protest.

In light Speed she had showered and put make up on.

Currently she was admiring herself in the mirror. It was the first time she was wearing the dress and she couldn't deny that it looked bomb.
