Chapter 36: Just the way you are

Aria looked up from her phone when someone knocked at her door. A little suspicious about who would knock, now that most of the players were with their girlfriends, she opened.

"Aria!" Greeted Jamal's happy voice her. A little taken by surprise, Aria smiled unsure.

"I want you to meet Layla."

Aria's eyes widened when she recognized the individual in front of her. Then she smiled greatly. "You're Layla?"

The girl in front of her smiled shyly and nodded. She was really pretty with her dark blonde hair and tanned skin.

"Your freckles are to die for. You're such a stunning girl!" Aria voiced her thoughts. Layla's smile widened and Aria saw her relax in her presence.

"Thank you so much!"

Jamal caught Aria's gaze and shot her a thankful smile for making the girl feel welcomed. Aria winked.

"Jamal has told me quite a lot about you."

Layla tuned around and eyed the boy she came for. "You have?"

"Maybe a little." The youngster confessed and Layla laughed.

"Only the best though." Aria grinned and Jamal was fast to agree.

"I'm glad."

Aria could immediately see that the two of them were a match made in heaven. Their shy personalities complementing each other perfectly.

Jamal had downplayed how smitten he was with the girl and Aria had underestimated the crush of the girl.

She smiled to herself, feeling like a proud big sister.

"What are you guys going to do?" She asked them.

"We don't know yet but I was thinking of showing her the Arena." Jamal answered and Layla nodded. "I would love to see it."

"Don't let me hold you up then. Have fun." Aria smiled.

The two teenagers excused themselves and Aria watched as they left, bickering about something. She was about to close her hotel door when Jamal looked back again.

"Oh Aria by the way!"

Aria looked up. "What?"

"The Blues are going to be here any minute. If you want to be there for their arrival you should change out of your Pyjama look." He smiled and sticked his tongue out at the woman.

"Shut up Jamal." She laughed and waved him off.

She didn't know football teams were staying in the same hotel during the match seasons but it made sense if you thought about it.

Aria wasn't familiar with the French team, only knowing some players because everyone knew them. So she didn't bother getting ready for them.

Well, she didn't get read for them but she did get ready, after coming to the conclusion that there were better places in the hotel to rot around than her room.

The weather was really pretty so Aria went for some ripped jeans shorts and a white blouse. She let her hair down so it fell down her back in its usual messy curls.

The girl grabbed her room key and phone and decided to go for a stroll to search for a prettier hang out spot.

Inevitably she ended up in the arms of Julian Draxler. "Where are you off to miss Webster?" He asked her, smiling.
