Chapter 30: Wings

Carefully, Julian closed the door behind him and stepped through back into the changing rooms. "What is it?" He asked.

Unsure of how to address the situation Aria puffed out some air and let her eyes wander around the room before they inevitably settled back on the Dortmund player.

"So I know we haven't exactly gotten onto the best start yesterday." She started and trailed off. Why is this so hard?! "And I was kind of hoping we could clear the air a little." Aria suggested.

Julian nodded and came a little closer.

"Uhm okay..." The girl mumbled. Killing some time Aria's gaze flew over the walls again. "The is really no pretty way of brining this to you so imma just go all out."

Whenever Aria had to talk about her family, she got all dizzy and felt like her legs couldn't hold her up. And this time was no different. Not wanting to potentially risk another panic attack, Aria sat down on one of the benches. She looked at the bag next to her.

Havertz. What a coincidence.

"So basically you look like a freaking doppelgänger of my brother." Aria blurted out. That was easier than she had thought.

Julian sucked in a sharp breath.

"Yesterday evening when you walked though the door, I had a deja vu because literally everything you do reminds me of him." Aria explained. Now that the hardest part was over, it was easier to talk. "The way you walk, the way you talk, heck even the way you laugh is the same!"

Julian had come closer so that he as now sitting next to Aria. He was closely watching her and Aria was unable to read his expression, so she just kept talking.

"When I saw you for the first time it triggered an anxiety attack. I haven't had these in ages and I recently started feeling symptoms again. I didn't think it would come down to this, honestly." Aria said sincerely.

She looked up into Julian's face. Happy this was out she chuckled. "I am really sorry about that terrible first impression."

Julian's face too, broke out into a small grin. "It was definitely something." He agreed. Together they laughed lightly.

"So what do you think? Is there still a chance for a potential friendship?" Aria asked carefully.

Julian shrugged. "I don't know honestly." Frustrated, Aria looked away.

But then the footballer's face broke out in a grin, giving him away. Aria laughed and playfully shoved him. "Fuck off. You had me there for a second."

"Kai was so excited for us two to meet he literally wouldn't stop talking about it for weeks."

"I don't think it went how he had imagined it." Aria giggled and Julian agreed. The he got serious, making Aria's laugh immediately falter.

"What?"

"I didn't know I reminded you of your brother. I thought it was my fault that you had a panic attack. That's why have been distant." He confessed.

Aria's eyes widened. "It definitely wasn't your fault. I am so sorry."

"There's nothing you should apologize for Aria." The German reassured her, sincerely. It looked like he was about to say something else but thought better if it.
