Chapter 16: Something to talk about

Thankfully Aria had dropped the matter when they went out to grab breakfast.

"So let's talk about something very important, babe," she started the conversation.

Kai groaned, knowing where she was going. "Since when are we together? Cause, you know, I need to mark our anniversary in the calendar."

"Shut up Aria!" Kai exclaimed desperately.

"Yeah like I'm the one who just claimed that were are a couple in front of my ex."

Kai runs his fingers through his hair and eyed Aria from the side. She kept her eyes firmly on the road and her look said nothing about what she was thinking about.

"Take a picture it lasts longer."

Rolling his eyes he let his hand drop into his lap. He hasn't met a person in a very long time who managed to rile him up as much as Arianna could.

"Makes me seem like an utter dick doesn't it?" The footballer mumbles. Aria shrugged. "Kind of - unless you still have a thing for her"

She honks when a car was blocking them.

Her face still didn't show what she thought about the whole matter or what was going on inside of her.

Kai hated that she could read him so easily and he had such a hard time trying to figure out her emotions.

"That wasn't the reason, trust me." Kai sighed. "The reason is actually leaning more towards my... Ego"

The footballer chuckled drily before Aria could reply anything. "Marie is already engaged, Aria... and me? I used to be incapable of even looking twice in girls direction because I was afraid of getting hurt again. Hell- I still spend most of my time alone or kicking a ball"

At a red streetlight Aria finally looked over at him. To Kais surprise she was slightly smiling.

"Technically," she interjects "you have a random chick that moved into your house so you're not even alone most of the time."

"I wonder who she is and why she sounds so lame?!"

Aria chuckled. Finally the air was completely cleared between them.

Inside however Aria was mentally slapping herself.

How much had she had hoped that Kai would reply with something like a romantic love declaration. At least that's how it went in books.

Of course she couldn't expect something like that because how was he supposed to know that Aria was head over heels for him?

She decided to lock those feeling very deep inside herself. So deep she might eventually forget about them.

"I've got news by the way." Aria chimed.

They had gotten breakfast to go and drove a little outside London, sitting on the car and enjoying the peacefulness.

Kai looked up at her. He was met with her, already looking at him.

"Spill the Beans."

"I'll have to move to the US for a few weeks in about a month."

"Why?!" Kai gaped at his friend.

"Well... my series final season is dropping then, along with two other movies that I've been working on." the actress explained, lowering her gaze. "I have three comic cons coming up and premieres all over the world, not to mention the press conferences."
