Chapter 29: die alone

Silently Aria pushed the door to her and Kai's room open. It was eerily silent inside, but the lights were on.

Aria frowned and entered.

Kai laid there, passed out on the bed, sleeping soundly. A soft smile formed on Aria's lips.

Out of everything she had seen today this had to be her favorite sight.

Silently Aria closed the door and walked the few step over to him, so that she was standing besides him.

Kai was softly smiling and he looked incredibly peaceful.

Carefully, Aria took of his shoes and draped the blanket over the footballer. She brushed through his hair and planted a small kiss on his forehead. „Sweet dreams idiot."

The she quickly brushed her teeth and changed before she laid down next to Kai, cuddling up against him in desperate need of the comforting feeling.

Even asleep he tightly wrapped his arm around her and pulled her close. A content sigh escaped his lips and he burried his head in the crook of Aria's neck.

She woke up the next morning by someone rummaging through the room. Groggily she sat up and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes.

"Did I wake you?" Kai worriedly asked from where he was going through his clothes. Aria hummed in response and Kai guiltily looked down.

"It's alright though." The girl said and stechend before she went into the bathroom.

When she came back Kai was already changed and scrolling through Instagram. He looked up when he saw Aria.

"I'm sorry I fell asleep yesterday, I told you I'd be there when you came back."

"You needed the rest, don't worry."

Aria felt Kai's gaze on her back while she was pulling out her clothes to change. "I know you wanna ask about it. What do you want to know?"

She looked up to see Kai looking like a deer caught in headlights. "Everything?" He asked innocently.

So Aria told Kai everything. From Jogi confronting her about her dad, to her finding out that he had known Ted forever and lastly how they are now trying to work on their bonding.

"I am actually really happy you two met." Kai confessed. Enthusiastically, Aria nodded. "Me too. Thank you for bringing me here."

They had went over this a few times already so Kai didn't bother telling Aria that it was nothing.

"I have a team meeting in a few minutes so I'll have to leave but make sure you'll be there at breakfast okay?" The footballer was already at the door ready to leave.

Aria kissed his cheek lightly and waved him off. "I'll be there, don't worry."

Kai nodded and excited the door but not fast enough for Aria to not see the faint blush keeping up his cheeks.

Chuckling to herself she closed the door and went back to the bed, flopping down on it. Killing some time she got ready but eventually found herself back on the bed.

With a sigh she pulled out her phone. Her finger hovered over Instagram but she quickly pushed that thought away.

Aria had deactivated her Instagram account on Kai's and Mason's suggestion as her mental health had taken a bad turn, caused by all the hate on social media. She didn't think it possible but it was so much more relaxing now that she couldn't read the comments under her posts.
