Chapter 14: Traitor
Aria payed the price for that night with a rotten hangover the next morning and Kai was no better.
The girl had hoped her feelings would have disappeared by the next day, together with the memory of it all.
But they didn't and somehow she barely remembers anything from that night except for the kiss; that, she remembered very well.
She didn't dare to bring up the topic around Kai as he seemed to not think about it at all.
Little did she know that Kai too, very well remembered the feelings of her lips on his.
But either of them thought the other had forgotten about it so they end up not talking about it at all.
Coach had called to Kai that they were starting to go back to training one week after new year which put Kai in some sort of mid bad panic attack as he was very inconsequent with his workouts over the past few weeks.
But somehow he had talked Aria into coming with him to training two weeks later. It didn't take much convincing really, Aria just loved to see him begging on his knees.
So that's why now, they were sat in Kais car, driving to the training center and Arias nerves were kicking in.
You didn't exactly have to be a massive football fan to be a little starstruck by the English players.
"Relax Aria." Kai said without taking his eyes off the road. "They're gonna love you. In fact, I think they already do."
Arias head shot ups and she gave him a weird look. "Were you talking about me or what?"
A small blush creeped up Kais neck and he just shrugged it off. Aria pulled a face but let it slip.
Kai had suggested that I would take a seat in the stands that had been put up for visitors. "Are you sure you're not gonna get bored?" He asked her.
"Bored?", Aria scoffed, "Havertz thanks to you I've been given the opportunity to ogle over hot football players, presently training in tight kits and undershirts; me getting bored should be the least of your concerns."
Now it was Kais turn to scoff at her. "I didn't bring you here to ogle over how hot my team mates are."
"Jealous much?" Aria smirked. "Don't worry I'll keep my eyes especially on you."
The whole situation had a certain weirdness to it as Aria noticed she was shamelessly flirting with her best friend.
I guess we have reached the stage of friendship where that is perfectly normal. She thought.
The young actress found it so entertaining how flustered Kai had gotten that she couldn't help but have one last jab at him. Standing on her tiptoes she pressed her lips on his cheek, giving him a small peck.
"For good luck." And she was off to the stands, leaving an utterly perplexed Kai behind.
Slowly he made his way to the changing room where he was met with his teammates. Their loud chatter and laughing eventually pulled him out of his dazed state.
After an hour of training and Aria sneakily taking photos of them, Coach dismissed them for a break and Kai came jogging over to her, oblivious to the 15 pairs of eyes that were following him.
Because everyone had seen the pretty brunette sitting in the stands, now talking to Kai.
The two were talking amongst themselves when Mason Mount confidently walked over to them after a lost game of rock, paper, scissors with his team mates about who will have to take the fall and make Kai introduce his friend to them.
