RENEE
"Ren, we need better nicknames," Noah told me one afternoon.
"Babe is fine, babe," I answered lazily.
I was sitting on my porch, wishing Truffles was here to cuddle in my arms, while Clover tossed around her Tarot cards, and lit incense sticks to clear her aura. I had been working on my homework completer, tinkering around on the device, until Noah came up.
"Babe," Noah said in a cool accented voice, before bursting into laughter. "I'm sorry, Ren, but do you even like me calling you babe?"
"Why are you asking me now?" I asked.
"Because I just told Shay, and she's going on about how 'babe' is the epitome of cringe," Noah scoffed.
"It is," I admitted. "But I still like it."
"Why do you like it?" Noah asked. "I'm really curious."
"Because, you sound so adorable saying that," I answered, as I felt a blush coming in.
"I'm adorable?" Noah sounded surprised.
"You have no idea," I smiled, only to catch Clover grinning at me. She soon made kissing noises, teasing me about talking to Noah again. I rolled my eyes, but that didn't stop her from making louder, more obnoxious noises.
"Princess?" Noah tried, sounding awkward.
"Yes, Prince Charming?" I giggled. "Where's my missing shoe?"
"Shut up, Ren, I'm trying out new nicknames," He said, sounding annoyed. "Do you like this one, Princess?"
"It doesn't suit me," I shrugged, before wailing, "Babe, just call me babe."
"Okay, cupcake." He replied, before contradicting himself. "No, you're not a cupcake either."
"I'm telling you, babe is fine. Don't listen to Shay, Noey." I rolled my eyes.
"Noey?" He laughed. "Where did that come from?"
"I really have no idea, but it suits you!" I cheered.
"So, Ren and Noey?" He said. "Nice, babe."
"Thanks, babe," I replied.
"... We're still using babe."
"I don't think we're dropping it anytime soon, Noey," I laughed.
"Okay, Ren."
I smiled to myself. No matter what mood I was in, talking to him made me feel a hundred times better.
"You are so in love," Clover noticed, grinning at me like a maniac.
"I'm not in love, Cloves," I turned away from her, trying not to blush as I thought about Noah.
"Right here on this porch, two months ago, I predicted that you would get a boyfriend. And now..." She paused for a dramatic effect, "I am right!"
"Yeah, you are," I grinned appreciatively. "And you also were right about Shay lying to us."
"Thank you, Renee," She bowed. "I must admit, I am getting pretty good at this Tarot stuff."
She proceeded to shuffle her cards, before one fell out off her deck, a certain seven of swords.
