Panthera ran through the woods with Connor on her back. It took her longer than it would to fly but she didn't care, she was just happy she found him. A few hours into running, she passed by the bobcat she saved. The bobcat was happy to see her and she ran along with Panthera for a while before splitting off. It was nightfall before they got back. Just as Connor gets off Panthera’s back, his mom and dad run out. They hug him and ask him loads of questions and Panthera stands on the side. She feels uncomfortable so she shifts into panther form and slinks into the woods. Her mom and dad don't notice but Connor does. “I'm tired, can I go to bed?” Connor asks, pretending to yawn. His mom and dad nod and walk inside. He tries to follow Panthera but gets lost. He calls out her name for a half hour before Panthera hears anything. She runs toward the sound and finds Connor in a clearing. “What are you doing?” she asks, shifting into a human. “I was trying to find you! Why did you run off?” “Because mom and dad were so worried about you and I wanted to let you guys be a family.” Panthera says, looking down. “Oh.” is all Connor says. Panthera shifts into a panther and walks over to Connor. Connor jumps on and she brings him home again. Once there at the door, Connor gets off and looks at Panthera. “I’m coming.” she says, shifting. Connor smiles and opens the door and runs inside. Panthera follows him inside. She runs up to her room and Connor goes to his. The next morning Panthera wakes up to some strange noises in her room. She calls out but no one responds. She gets out of bed and looks around her room. She doesn't see or hear anything again so she changes into a long, flowy yellow dress and walks downstairs. She goes to the kitchens and grabs something to eat when Connor walks in. “Good morning.” Connor says, grabbing some cereal and sitting next to her. “Mornin.” she says. They eat their food in silence, when there's a knock at the front door. Panthera goes and opens the door and there's a baby there. She bends down to the baby and there's a note. She grabs the note and sits next to the baby reading it.

Dear Panthera,

My name is Emma and my daughter is the baby. I can't take care of her and I hope you can. I'm sorry to leave my baby on your doorstep but someone was gonna  take her if I didn't. Please take care of her, her name is Katy and she is a few months old.

                    From Emma

Panthera grabs the baby and walks inside. She wants to know who Emma is and wants to know how Emma knows her but she puts those questions out of her mind. Katy looks up at Panthera as she walks into the living room. “Who was at the- what is that?” Connor says, cutting himself off. “Her name is Katy, some woman named Emma dropped her off. She came with a note.” Panthera says, handing him the note. He reads the note as his mom and dad walk down the stairs. Connor explains it to them as Panthera walks into the kitchen. Katy starts crying and Panthera makes a bottle and starts to feed the baby. “We can't keep this baby!’” Panthera hears. She walks into the living room and watches everyone fight. She starts crying a little when Connor finally sees her. “Panthera...” he says, trailing off. Panthera grabs a blanket and wraps it around the baby before running out the door. “Panthera, wait!” Connor yells out the door. Panthera has already changed into a panther with the baby wrapped in a blanket dangling in her mouth. She runs and doesn't stop. Panthera hears the baby giggling the whole time and she smiles.
