Chapter Twenty Seven

Panthera wakes up to the sound of something in the room and she looks around. She looks to the door and sees Artemis there. “Oh. I'm sorry Panthera. I didn't mean to wake you.” Artemis says kindly. Panthera lets a huff and Artemis laughs. Connor rustles before settling back down. “I just wanted to come see my little sister.” Artemis says. Panthera smiles and so does Artemis. There's a noise from the otherside of the door and Artemis waves before disappearing. Candance opens the door and sees Panthera. “Oh, good morning Panthera. I was just coming to get Connor for breakfast.” Candance says. Panthera nods and goes to move when Connor pulls her paw back. Candance lets out a soft giggle and walks over to them. “Connor, wake up. It's time for breakfast.” Candance says sweetly, gently shaking Connor. “Let me sleep.” Connor groans, pulling Panthera’s paw over his face. Candance giggles and Panthera pulls her paw away. “Come on Luna.” Connor groans again and gets off the bed. Her soft paws hit the floor with a muffled thud and she walks out, leaving the two to talk. She walks across the hall and pushes the door open. “Morning Luna.” Leon says jokingly. Panthera lets out a mocking growl and Leon laughs. Panthera glares at him and Leon sits up. “Don't give me that look.” he says, tossing a pillow at Panthera. Panthera dodges it and walks out, flicking her tail playfully. Candance walks out with Connor and they walk downstairs. Panthera follows in pursuit and walks out the front door. Her feet hit the earth and she starts running. She gets to a stream and catches two fish, eating them raw. She gets two more and brings them back. Candance walks outside and takes the two fish. “Thank you Luna.” Candance says mockingly. Panthera swats Candance with her paw and Candance laughs. “Alright, Alright.” Candance walks inside and Panthera stands in the doorway. Connor walks over and rubs her head gently before walking back and sitting down at the table. “Did you already eat?” Leon asks. “Yes.” Panthera growls back. Leon laughs and sits down at the table. Candance makes breakfast and gives everyone their plates before tossing Panthera a piece of bacon. Panthera snatches it out of the air and eats it. Connor claps and starts eating. Katy starts crying and Candance runs off. She comes back a moment later with Katy in her arms. She makes her a bottle and feeds her.
