Panthera and the Ghostly Sister ✓

Chapter Seven

Once Connor and Katy are both asleep, Panthera sneaks out and runs back to the house. Once she gets there, she quietly sneaks in and leaves a note on their bedside table.

Dear Candance and Abaddon,

It's Panthera, Connor is with me. He's safe and fine. Me, him and Katy are safe in a cave. I've told him to come back home to you both but he wont, not without me. I'm not coming back if you don't want me. Connor told me what you said so me and Katy are going to find a new home. I was planning on bringing Connor back while he was asleep but I couldn't betray him like that, besides, Katy loves him and I couldn hurt her. I'm going to backtrack here with him and Katy. I'm going to ditch him here in 3 days so be ready. When I do, give him this note. Let him know that I love him and I hope he will forgive me. I'm not going to make him choose me over his family.

Once Panthera finishes the note and leaves it, she flys back to them in dragon form. She gets back there just as Connor climbs out of the cave. “Where did you go?” Panthera holds up a few bunnies that she captured to make it seem like she was hunting. “Oh.” he says, walking over to her. He grabs them and their hands touch. I chill goes down her spine and she gets butterflies but she ignores them. She climbs into the cave after him. When she gets inside, she starts to cook the meat. Katy wakes up and she makes her bottle. “Can I try?” Connor asks once the bottle is made. Panthera nods and hands him the bottle. After a second, Katy gets a hold of the bottle. Panthera smiles at the scene in front of her. Connor looking down and smiling at the baby, and her eating her bottle, trying to hold the sides. She looks away and down at the food after a second. She realizes she's going to hate betraying him and bringing him home to Candance and Abaddon. After a minute Katy finishes the bottle and reaches for Panthera. She grabs Katy and picks her up. Katy reaches for her hair and she lets her. After a second she starts crying. “What's wrong?” Connor asks. Panthera puts down Katy and shifts into a panther. Katy stops crying almost immediately. She crawls over to Panthera and plays with her fur. Panthera smiles and looks at Connor and he smiles too. After a few minutes Katy falls asleep in Panthera’s fur. Connor smiles and gets up and walks over to Panthera. He looks at her then at her fur. She nods and Connor lays down against Panthera’s stomach. He falls asleep a few minutes later and Panthera smiles. She hears something and looks in the direction of the noise. She doesn't see anything for a second but then something shines against the wall. She tries to get a closer look but it disappears. Panthera thinks it was just an illusion and ignores it. She doesn't go to sleep just in case.
