Chapter Twenty Eight

Panthera lays with Connor in a field in the woods. Connor is laying on his back, looking up at the clouds. Panthera is laying on her stomach, looking up. "That one looks like a castle." Connor says, pointing to one of the clouds. Panthers looks at it and notices the tiny ones near it with her panthers eyes. "Sure does." Candance says. Panthers turn to look at Candance while Connor shoots up. "Hey mom.” he says. Candance sits down with Katy and Panthera leans forward. She gently licks Katy's face and Katy smiles. Panther looks back up at the clouds and Connor does too. Connor keeps naming clouds while Panthera and Candance watch the clouds he names off. A few hours later, Connor yawns. Candance laughs and stands up. “Let's go home.” Candance says, picking up Katy and helping up Connor. They all go home and Connor asks Candance to let Panthera sleep in his room again. Candance agrees and Panthera follows him up. It's cold so when Panthera lays next to Connor, Connor scoot over and lays under her arm and partially under her. “Goodnight Luna.” Connor says. Panthera lays her head down before something makes a noise. Her head shoots up and she looks around. She sees Artemis sitting on the window ledge. “Hi Panthera.” Artemis says. Panthera doesn't say anything. “Come on, talk to me.” Artemis says. “Hi.” Panthera says. “Well hi.” Artemis says kindly. “Why are you here? Is something wrong?” Panthera asks, worried. “No, but Leon's mom wants him to come back home.” Artemis says. Panthera gets up gently, pulling the blanket more over Connor. “Leon.” Panthera says, shifting. Leon opens the door. “Your mom wants you to go home.” Panthera says. Leon hugs her before walking outside. “Bye.” they both say. Panthera goes back up to the room and shifts, getting back on the bed. Connor automatically grabs Panthera paw and covers himself back up with her body and fur. Artemis smiles and disappears. “Where did you go?” Connor mumbles. Panthera looks at him and he's looking up at her, sleepily. Panthera gently licks his face and he mumbles something before falling back asleep.
