Panthera shifts and hits the ground. She screams, her fist hitting the ground. The trees shake, the ground rumbles, as if it's alive. She screams as everyone bends down and covers their ears. She screams until the ground splits beneath her and sets on fire. She screams until the trees topple over, the grass is scorched, and the house is flattened. She screams until the ground starts bleeding. She screams until Persephone gets ripped into the air, glowing black. She screams until Finn starts crying then she stops. She looks up at Persephone, her eyes glowing black. “Please. Please don’t.” Persephone begs. Panthera stands up and her fists squeeze tighter. Persephone lets out a blood curdling scream as red drips down her body. Panthera raises her hands and closes her fist tighter until there is a sickening crack of Persephone's spine. Her head rolls to the side and Finn cries out. Panthera drops her body and it crumples like a ragdoll on the ground. Panthera runs over to Connor and drops on her knees. “Please don’t leave me.” she cries out. She pulls Connor’s cold lifeless body into her arms. She lets the tears fall as she holds him to her chest. They hit his pale face and let a small wisp of black smoke rise into the air. She holds him there till Leon drags her away. She screams and kicks, yelling for him to let her go. Candance drops to Connor’s side and bites him. “Please come back to me.” she whispers. Connor’s eyes shoot open and he screams out in pain. Leon’s grip loosens just long enough for Panthera to escape. She runs and drops next to him. She lays her hands on his arms and closes her eyes. She puts all her strength into it and he stops screaming. She mumbles words and he finally calms down. He sits up and throws his arms around her. “I used Persephone’s powers.” Panthera says. Connor chuckles and looks over to Persephone's body. “Did you do that?” he asks, amazed. She nods and he hugs her again. “Thank you.” He says. Leon walks over and sits next to them. “Thank you too. I never had the strength to do it myself.” he smiles and hugs her. They all go home and Panthera stays outside, guarding the house when Candance walks out. “Dinner’s ready.” she says. Panthera tail swishes back and forth and nods. Candance signs and walks back inside. After a few minutes, Leon walks outside. “I’ll take this watch while you eat.” Panthera looks at him before shifting and walking inside.
