Chapter Twenty

Panthera runs back to the Cherokee mountains and runs right up to Leon. “I have to go back.” she says. “What, why?” Leon asks. “Connor just ran off into the woods and got lost and I had to save him and now he thinks he has a panther best friend named Luna.” Panthera says, throwing her hands into the air. Leon bursts out laughing. “Alright, but I'm coming with you,” he says. “Ok, fine.” Panthera says. They both go inside and pack up. Panthera packs a backpack full of clothes and stuff for Katy like blankets, bottles and baby food. Leon packs stuff for him like clothes, and blankets for both of them. Panthera and Leon say goodbye to Nicky. Panthera gets outside and shifts into a dragon. Leon climbs on her back with Katy. Panthera grabs all of the backpacks with her claws before taking off. She flies to Connors home and gets there in four hours. She lands in the woods and shifts. She leaves Leon there and slinks towards the house. She smells for Connor but he isn't there. She shifts and knocks on the door. Abaddon opens the door and gives her a fowl look. “You came back.” he says. “I came back because your son made a new panther friend named Luna.” Panthera says. Abaddon scoffs and crosses his arms. “You made a witch make him forget you.” Abaddon says, still mad. “I did it because I had too.” Panthera says. Candance comes to the door and hugs Panthera. “I'm glad you did.” she says. Panthera smiles. “I'm going to be staying in a cabin in the woods so I can still be Connors Luna.” Panthera says. Candance nods and Panthera runs off. She gets back to the cabin and Leon opens the door. “How did it go?” he asks. “Abaddon hates me and Candance is glad I'm here.” Panthera says. Leon laughs and Panthera walks inside. Leon walks in and shuts the door behind him. Panthera makes a bottle and feeds Katy while Leon hunts. Leon comes back and starts cooking the deer meat. They eat and Panthera hears a scream. Leon takes Katy and Panthera runs out the front door. She shifts on the porch and leaps over the railing. As soon as she hits the ground, she's off. She runs until she gets to a road. She leaps over the road like it's not even there. She gets to Connors house and she smells blood.
