Chapter Thirty Six

Panthera and Persephone travel for a while before they stop. Panthera shifts and lands silently next to Persephone. “What are we doing here?” Panthera asks, scanning the open field. “This is my home.” Persephone says. Panthera looks at her confused. Persephone twiddles her fingers and a house appears. Panthera jumps back as a white picket fence appears around the perimeter. Persephone walks up to the front door and Panthera walks in after her. Panthera looks around at the interior of the house. “That’s your room.” Persephone says, pointing to a door. Panthera walks over and opens up the door. She’s shocked to see a perfectly normal room, yet expensive looking room. She walks over and sits on the bed. “Thank you.” Panthera mumbles and Persephone smiles. “Finn, come here!” Persephone yells out the door. A boy runs around the corner and slides to a stop in front of Persephone. “That’s Panthera, she is going to be your new sister.” Persephone says. Finn jumps up and down. “Yay, yay, yay, yay, yay!” Finn says, continuing to jump up and down. Persephone laughs and walks off. Finn runs in and Panthera smiles. Panthera and Finn play together for a while. After a while, Persephone calls out for dinner and Finn takes off running. Panthera follows, smiling to herself. Panthera walks into the kitchen and Finn is already in his spot, ready. Panthera sits down and Persephone serves the food. Finn keeps talking with Panthera and Persephone. Eventually Finn falls asleep in his spot and Panthera picks him up. “I’ll put him to bed.” she says. She walks to Finn’s room and lays him down, she tucks him in and kisses his forehead. She walks off to her room and changes before laying down and going to bed. She wakes up the next morning and cooks breakfast. By the time Persephone wakes up and walks in, Panthera is done. She serves the food before going to get Finn. She wakes him up and runs downstairs and gets breakfast. “Today, Panthera will help you learn to shift.” Persephone says, smiling. “Yay!” Finn says. After breakfast, Panthera brings Finn outside and starts teaching him. After a while he gets it and shows off to Persephone. “I did it momma! Did you see?” Finn says, hugging her. Persephone smiles and talks with him for a while. Leon runs up and grabs Finn. “Hey bear, what did you do?” he asks. “Look what sissy taught me!” he says, shifting. “Very good job!” Leon says enthusiastically. Leon turns and sees Panthera and freezes. “What are you doing here? Where’s Connor?” Leon says. “Who’s Connor?”
