Achilles

Three guesses for who appears in this one. This was quite a brief one to write because really I'm buying my time for the next one.

Tina walked into the morning briefing with a spring in her step. Nagini and Jacob had been up early baking and Theseus had some 'Head Auror' work to see to so Newt and herself had been able to act like a couple instead of awkwardly close friends. Ree and Abi were already there talking about something or other but as Tina's eyes travelled to where Benton, Atkins and Ben usually sit there were five more Aurors, MACUSA Aurors and her old colleagues. Most of them were alright and she found all of them capable Aurors except for one. In the centre of the group where Ben usually sat was Achilles Tolliver. The dark-haired auror had his barely noticeable waves coated in hair wax so that it neatly framed his face, His dark suit was clean and sharp looking and his unusually straight teeth were shown in a flashy grin. Deciding to promptly ignore him and pray that he understood what she was trying to get across in the letter she sent using a Hogwarts owl , she sank into her normal seat that was now in between Abi and Ben and sighed into her hands.

"Hey what's wrong?" Ben asked before taking a sip of tea

Mercy Lewis why is coffee such a rarity in this place Tina randomly thought before whispering "You know the guy who's currently sat in your seat?" Bens eyes narrowed and he replied shortly "Yes."

"I dated him for a few months then I broke up with him over a letter the moment I arrived in England"

"By Letter?"

"That was to do with your kind of boyfriend Newt wasn't it?" Abi chipped in having overheard the conversation. Tina blushed slightly but nodded anyway

"Newt was the reason I dated him anyway"
"Ooo why's that?" Ree asked over Abis' shoulder. Double checking that her three colleagues were just being overly nosy and she wasn't actually being really loud, she lowered her voice and said

"Well I read an article that said Newt was getting married not Theseus so i- Moved on"

"I haven't talked to either of them really but from what I've seen they look like polar opposites" Ben exclaimed and then was hushed by Abi

"They are polar opposites" Tina confirmed quietly before thankfully being interrupted by Theseus strolling to the front of the room.

"Good Morning Aurors. I hope you all had a pleasant weekend and before we begin I would like to thank Miss Goldstein for travelling to New York with my brother and not causing another international accident" He paused for effect and in response to her glare he merely winked then continued with his speech "Now Brits and honorary Brit" He once again looked at Tina "You may have noticed we have some additional people in here today and that's because we've been loaned five of MACUSAS top Aurors for a year to help us with Grindelwald in Europe. They will be filling up some of the spaces we've had since the issues in Paris and the raid last year. Now Goldstein you have already worked with everyone before and has now lived in England for a few weeks so new Aurors if you need any help adapting to life over here she's the one to call." He then sprang into the recap of what they knew so far which hasn't changed since her first-day briefing and then the time for desk allocations came. Tina hurried over to her desk and crossed her fingers hoping that the absent desk diagonal from hers wouldn't be taken by Tolliver. Tina thought she had gotten lucky as desk area A was empty so could seat four and Theseus surely had the brains to sit the final Auror with the other all guy table but no. He sat four of the new Aurors at the A desks which left Achilles to sit at the free desk diagonal from her.

Suppressing a groan as he sat down she reached for her newly reinstated thunderbird quill and began to sift through a report pointedly ignoring him. There was blissful silence for almost four hours but five minutes before their lunch break he piped up
