Honestly, I still can't grasp the fact that I am pregnant and there's literally a baby inside my tummy. But seeing how much they care for me makes my heart warmer. My tummy's not even big yet, but I feel like they're already seeing me as a mom with three kids.
My lips form into a grim line while Mama literally shake my body.
"Tell me this is not some joke you're pulling!" She exclaimed.
"'Ma... Do I like joking?"
"Oh my God, you are pregnant!"
"That's what I'm telling you..."
My eyes widen when tears start rolling down her cheeks.
"I'm so happy hija..."
Napangiti na lang ako nang higitin ako nito para sa isang mainit na yakap habang panay ang pag singhot.
"Have you gone to an OB-GYN?"
Umiling ako.
"You haven't?!"
"Kanina ko lang kasi nalaman 'Ma..."
"Let's get you to one now! Naku, ikaw bata ka!" Aniya sabay pahid ng luha.
Hindi ko napigilan ang matawa. Muli pa akong niyakap nito bago hilahin palabas ng opisina. Muntik na akong mabangga sa kan'yang likod nang bigla s'yang tumigil. Tumaas ang dalawang kilay ko.
"Wait," she glances at me. "Who's the father?"
Pinantayan ko ang kan'yang tingin, pero hindi nagawang makasagot.
I'm scared.
Nang mapansin ni Mama ang hindi ko pagsagot ay tumango lang ito bago ako ipalibot sa'kin ang kan'yang braso.
Leon:

You're not at your office, are you on a meeting? Kain tayong lunch together. :)
Napatitig ako sa kan'yang mensahe at 'di maiwasang matulala.
Our visit at the OB went fine. I'm five weeks pregnant and gratefully, the baby is healthy. Though she still warned me about avoiding any stress, eating nutritious foods, being healthy, what to eat and not to eat, vitamins, and of course to visit an OB-GYN regularly.
"Do you want a beef broccoli, Callie?"
Tumango lang ako at ngumiti.
Muling binalingan ni Mama ang waiter at sinabi pa ang sandamakmak n'yang order habang nag tipa naman ako ng reply kay Leon.

Ako:
I'm taking a day off. I'm with my mom. Just eat lunch with Janine or someone, Leon.
My brow arched when without a minute, my phone beeped with his reply.
Leon:
Okay then, enjoy your day with Tita. And I'm not eating with Janine, mag isa lang akong kakain. Magpakabusog ka.
Napanguso ako at hindi na gustong mag reply pa.
Okay, I get it. I don't know. Basta na lang lumabas si Janine. Our years ago conversation suddenly hunts me these past few days. She just sounds so protective and whipped over Leon before, and I don't know, maybe until today?
