Evelin awoke feeling massively better than she had stumbled into bed. She quickly realized how close she was to Adrian. He was still asleep but she was practically spooning his sleeping form. She slid sideways in attempt to allow herself some space and ended up waking Adrian up.
Adrian yawned and stretched his long arms above his head. Evelin still looked hung over. She didn’t take the liquor well. Adrian unzipped the sleeping bag and got up. The gym was about half way empty now. Many students found once the party had worn out, that a sleeping on the gym floor really wasn't that fun. Many had left at first going home to sleep some more.
Evelin sat up and pulled her long hair back. She got up and stumbled a couple times. But rolled up her sleeping bag and strapped it to her back pack.
Adrian dug through his own bag and found a bottle of Tylenol and handed it to Evelin. She opened it and poured herself a couple doses and swallowed them dry.
Evelin handed him the bottle back. “you shouldn't take them like that, it will kill your liver.”
Evelin sighed, it was nice of him to pick on her when she felt horrible. If she slept some more the alcohol would have time to run out of her system. Her mom wasn't going to happy when she saw her.
Evelin got up sat down at a table in the cafeteria and looked for a quarter so she could call her mom to come and get her. She could walk home but it was snowing again and here even with the improvement was pounding.
Adrian pulled out his iPhone and dialed Lexus. She was probably already awake and wouldn't mind coming to get him were Alex would be grumble if Adrian asked him to do anything. His anger hadn't even begun to waver. It hurt Adrian to have Alexander so mad at him because, he loved his brother and now he wondered if his brother loved him at all.
The phone rung once before Lexus's overly cheery voice came on. Even when she had gone through periods of anorexia and sever depression she wouldn't let anyone know, she had a strong facade. But today she was actually in a good mood. Her parents had gotten home a little more than an hour ago and were organizing flower displays and picture frames. Lexus and Alex were starting to make food. They started with the fun stuff deserts and were currently making five dishes of brownies and over a hundred cookies. Both had cooking aprons on that had splatters of dough on them. “Hello.”
“Hey you want to come pick me up?”
“Sure, Adrian. Alex and I will be there soon,”
Evelin had left school to walk home she had been unable to find any money for the pay phone and didn't want to bug other people for money. It was something she personally found annoying. The snow had slowed down and was slowly floating to the ground. It look kind of like the snow scenes you saw in holiday movies. Her mind was clearing from the exercise and the head ache was numbed from the Tylenol. Evelin found herself thinking about the kiss. About the feeling of his lips on hers. It wasn't something she should have let happen. She didn't need to have boy problems right now. Maybe after she went to University and didn't have so much to do. But more than that she should stay away from Adrian. He had been nice to her had driven her home and helped her get to bed when she was drunk. But for every nice thing he would do he would do he would also do something egotistic. The kissed they shared last night, she couldn't figure out where that should belong. Then there was the invitation to the party tonight, she probably should have lies and said she was busy. But she didn't and she wasn't going to back out of something she had already agreed to do.
Adrian got back into the cafeteria to see that Evelin had already left. He wished she would of said good bye, but maybe her mom was in a hurry. Lexus pulled up driving her infinity. Adrian stepped in the back of the SUV it was smaller than his land rover but was still comfortable
“Did you have fun?” Lexus sounded like there mother Audrey.
“Yep,” Adrian said happily.
“So did you sleep with her?” Alex said, knowing something had happened, Adrian was too happy.
“Her as in Evelin? No.”
“Well why not?”
“Its not like that.”
“What the hell its not like that. Adrian since when are any of your relationships,'not like that'?”
“Oh come on Alex its cute. Adrian found a girl that its worth waiting for.”
Adrian and Alex both scuffed at the notion. Lexus shook her head at her idiot brothers and turned up her light music. The perfect antidote to there rock and rap preferences. Alex look out the window at the mountains as there car twisted and turned around them.
Adrian found was finding truth in Lexus's words. He could remember the last time he went after a girl who he didn't already have a handle on. Where he had to try to impress her to make her blink an eye at him. He'd never been one to wait to get what he wanted. But not many people are anymore, he grew up in a 'I want everything now!' society. But with Evelin he'd been content with have one gentle kiss with her. Even though he'd had to push her into it. He hadn't tried to have a make out session or try to grope her and that had been okay. He was just becoming more like Alexander he told himself. Alex went through girls, but slower then Adrian dating one for a few weeks and then moving to another. Though Alex had dated the same girl for almost eight months now.
Evelin didn't stop at the mountain berry, when she finally arrived there, she walked straight to her cabin. But as exhausted as she had been when she was wide awake. Evelin started a fire in her fire place and then grabbed a blanket and read the latest Vampire romance that Alba had given her. Alba and Lucila were into fantasy romances and for about the last year it had been mostly vampires. They had both agreed that Evelin should read this one and even though it wasn't Evelin normal choice of books she read it. That was how her day went she read her book and really move other than to tend the fire. And she didn't feel lazy for wasting it either. Midway though the day she finished the book and moved to its sequel. She had forgotten about the invitation she had excepted to Adrian's party.
