Adrian was dead bored. He talked to people, but the weren't really talking about what they wanted to know from him. The details to his Affair with Ms. Miller, his math teacher. People thought there were some great steamy details. but in truth He had slept only slept with her once. He had come to get extra credit, because he'd failed his semester Exam bringing down his Calculus to low C. So he slept with his teacher and his grade became a A-. But the schools computer caught a Error. When they called in Ms. Miller she cracked and confessed, and Adrian got expelled. It was number one on the list of stupidest things he'd ever done.
Adrian's expulsion, made Audrey and Thomas want to have a closer eye on there children. Even if Thomas had to make his commute near impossible, that was better than having there children out of control hours away.
One of Audrey's friends, Michelle Price came toward Adrian and Evelin. She was a Author like Adrian's mother. But She wrote science fiction and fantasy novels. Where Audrey wrote books for kids picture books and children's novels. Michelle was the only person Adrian was happy to talk to all day. Michelle wore a long dress with an open back. She had medium length brown hair and was about ten years younger then Audrey.
“Adrian.” she said.
“Ms. Price.” Adrian said respectably,
“Who's your guest?” she said referring to Evelin, who hadn't said a word since the guests got here.
“Hi, I'm Evelin.”
“Nice to meet you. I'm Michelle Price, a author body of Adrian's mom.”
Evelin realized that was the author who had written the novel she had spent all afternoon reading. Michelle fit the face of the Author on the back cover. “I'm reading your book.”
Michelle smiled,” really which one?”
“The vampire trilogy.”
Michelle smiled again. It gave her some odd form of pleasure to hear people were reading books. “Do you like them?”
“Yes, I'm on the second.”
“Good. How did you two meet?”
“Hiking,” Adrian answered before Evelin and went on to tell Michelle how Adrian had gotten lost and Evelin had lead him back. Evelin would occasionally help Adrian with places and with keeping the story accurate, he had a tendency to exaggerate.
Michelle smiled as she listened to Adrian and Evelin talk. There interactions were subtle but she noted that Adrian was either hold Evelin's hand or had a arm over her shoulders. Gentle touches but one that were done with care. Adrian was also smiling, not a fake one either. Smiles like he used to have when he was younger.
“Adrian, I'm going to get a drink,” Evelin said.
“Do you need me to come with you?”
“Nope.” Evelin said pulling away from Adrian whose arm was around her. She walked into the dining room which had all of the food and drink trays. There were many types of punch on the table. But Evelin was still avoiding open drinks and just picked up a can of flavored pop.
