Love in Unexpected Places

Chapter 12

Lexus went upstairs to her bedroom and grabbed her long key chain. She could her Adrian and Alex fighting, but decided to let them figure that out by them selfs.

Her and Evelin got into her Infinity the motor purred as it pulled out of the Garage and winded down the driveway.

"Did you have fun?" Lexus asked.

Evelin didn't know how to answer the question, in truth she had spent most of the time feeling awkward. Had found out interesting  and disturbing information about Adrian, and was very happy to be heading home. But instead she decided to lie, "Yes, I had a lot of fun your family has very different friends."

Lexus laughed, "Thats a nice way to say the a huge pain in the ass."

"They weren't that bad. Michelle Price was very nice."

"You got to meet Michelle. Thats good she's nice. Unlike my dads friends, but those are mostly just work people."

"What does your dad do,

for Utopian Hotel Company? He most be fairly important"

"Yes, My Dad is very important. He owns it."

Evelin stared at Lexus for a moment. "Like Paris Hilton and the Hilton family?"

Lexus snorted, "Not really. Shes famous for being stupid. Where we don't really make the news. Were to normal. But I guess we could be compared for owning out families owning hotel chains."

Lexus smiled contemplating herself being like Paris Hilton. "Also, Paris is a much more unusual name then Alexandra." They both laughed at that.

Lexus was driving down quiet main street. "Evelin, where do you live?"

"Do you know were the Mountain Berry Inn is?"

"Yes, Alex and I went to breakfast there the other morning."

"Well, I live in a cabin, behind there."

"You live in a cabin?"

"Yes, I live in my cabin and my family lives at the inn."

"You live out the by yourself?"

"Yep."

"Isn't it creepy?"

"Not really, I have a door lock. Its to close to town to really see big animals the stick to more rural areas. So I don't see bears or mountain lions."

Lexus couldn't imagine living alone in the woods. She wouldn't kill spiders and couldn't imagine dealing with bears. When she had asked the question she was thinking more of stalkers, rapists, and murders, then bears and mountain lions.

Lexus pulled in behind the inn. Evelin showed her the drive to her Cabin. She followed Adrian's tire tracks, down the drive way. Stopping at the cabin.

"I'll you at school on Tuesday." Lexus said as Evelin slid out of the car. Evelin smiled and nodded. Evelin unlocked the door as Lexus turned around.

Lexus was gone by the time Evelin was in the door. Evelin peeled of her dress and rolled into bed in just her underwear. Amazed at how tired she felt now that she was home. But considering she hadn't slept much last night it shouldn't  be that surprising. She feel asleep with Dante curled beside her legs and hoped to not have to be woken for a very long time.

Adrian came down stairs from his fight with Alex, that had only ended because Alex had passed out. Adrian came down to find Evelin and Lexus were no where to be seen.  Thomas said that Lexus had driven Evelin home. He wondered why Lexus hadn't said good bye, but maybe she had to be home quickly. Adrian really was too tired to think about it. He thought thinks with, Evelin had gone well. She had met his family and looked like she had some fun. Adrian went to bed like Evelin collapsed.Thomas and Audrey went to there bed room before Lexus head up, she had to walk past Alex's room before going to bed. So she stopped and checked to make sure he was okay.

            She opened the door and stepped inside shutting the door behind her. "Alex?" she said as she tapped his shoulder.

He stirred still in a drunken haze, but looked up at Lexus. "Hey you okay?" she said.

            "Yes," Alex said, "you look tired. You can rest, you don't have to play super Grantwise child anymore."

            Lexus laughed, "I don't think I'm really that super."

            "Yes, you are Lexus." Adrian got of  bed and hugged his sister, a brother and sister hug; an appropriate hug.

            Lexus could smell the liquor on him, it was mixed with his colon, and his own scent. Lexus moved closer to Alex. They ended up both sitting on the bed. Moving out of appropriate brother and sister territory. But Lexus stopped it from going any farther, "Alex, you most be tired. I'll let you sleep. See you in the morning." Then Lexus left Alex's room as suddenly as she'd came.

            Alex wished his sister had stayed with him longer, he wished he could kiss her again, like the way they'd kissed earlier. But those thoughts were wrong, Lexus had been right to leave. Alex peeled out of the suit and hung it up and then put on some pajamas. Then he collapsed back into deep sleep and he dreamed about Lexus.
