Adrian had helped his brother and sister bake for hours, when he decided it was best to escape for a little bit to talk to his mom and dad to make sure that it was okay that he brought Evelin. They had been peeking in at the kitchen occasionally, making sure Lexus hadn't burnt all the food or caught the house on fire. But she would reassure them and then kick them out of 'Her Kitchen' as she said. She only Adrian and Alex in it because they would follow directions.
Audrey and Thomas were doing some adjustments on the living room when Adrian found them.
“Hey do you mind if I bring a guest to tonights party?”
“Well it depends on who it is.” Both Audrey and Thomas fearing who Adrian might bring someone inappropriate.
“Her names Evelin, she lives in Willowcreek her family runs the little inn in town.” He knew both his parents had eaten at inn this week and had probably meet Evelin's mother if not Evelin herself.
“Evelin, Thomas wasn't that the name of our waitress a few nights ago?”
“I think so, Adrian is she Lexus's hight with long light brown hair?”
“Yep,” Adrian happy to see that this had gone his way. If they met busy and efficient Evelin the waitress she would be aloud over.
“Is that who you hung out with after your brother and sister left last night?”
“Yes.”
“That will be fine Adrian, have her by seven at the latest so we can meet her before the guests arrive.
Adrian left his parents and went back to the kitchen and sat down at the kitchen table and called Evelin.
The phone rung breaking Evelin from her reading and country music.
“Hello,”she said when she got the phone off the cradle.
“Hey, you sound better,” Said the laid back voice Adrian on the other side of the phone.
“How do you have my phone number?”
“Well if you call the inn it has an options menu and it has an option for the Noel family. Then it says for Dominique hit one, for Evelin hit two, and for Margret hit three. So are you still on for tonights party?”
“Oh thats what I forgot.”
“So do you want to come?”
“I don't let me call my mom, Call me back in 5 minutes,” and then Evelin dialed her mother at the inn.
“Yes, Evelin?” Her mom said recognizing the number on the caller ID.
“Can I go to a party tonight?”
\ “Who's party?”
“The new family's Adrian, Alex, and Lexus.” Evelin remembering his siblings names from her conversation with Adrian.
“I guess that would be alright, but don't stay out to late.”
“Can do Mom. I love you!” Then Evelin hung up and quickly took a shower leaving the door open encase Adrian called while she was in the shower. Which turned out to be unnecessary since Evelin got out of the shower before he called.
“Can you come,”
“Yep,” Evelin said as she dragged the cord of the phone toward her closet. Glad that she had moved all her clothes out to the cabin though it hadn't really seemed practical to have her dresses out with her in the woods.
Adrian got hear her moving things in the background. “I'll see you in a little less than an hour okay.”
“Sure thing,” Evelin said and then hung up the phone. She then went back into her closet and found the dress she wanted it was a floor length brown halter dress. Her prom dress from last year. She loved that dress. Evelin started to but together the rest of her clothing. Finding her only pair of heals stilettos and dabbing on a light layer of makeup. She had left her hair down for time reasons.
Adrian hit the end call button on his phone. Then went back over to help Alex and Lexus finish making pizzas the last thing they had to make. He started sprinkling chesses on the pizza's already rolled and sauced crust. He expected his sibling to question him on who he was talking to on the phone but they didn't. They already knew it was Evelin.
