Love in Unexpected Places

   The rest of the week went by uneventfully, Evelin ate dinner at the inn each night and finish all of her school work.

            Adrian settled into living in Willowcreek, he rode his horse and explored the ventures of his new home. Adrian's family prepared for there party, Adrian found reasons to disappear during most of that. He didn't see any of Evelin but planed to see her at the lock in on New Years.

            Lexus spent more time with her brother in years. They unpacked boxes and organized rooms. She and Alex got to catch up, she felt like they hadn't really spook before in years.

            The day of the lock in Evelin was stuck waitressing the Afternoon shift at the Mountain Berry, she changed into some  loss fitting yoga pants that would be comfortable to play sports and sleep in and also wore a Willowcreek Mountain Lions tee shirt. She had a bag with a sleeping bag and some other essentials. Lucila Horton picked up Evelin in her older Chevy truck. Lucila was tall and blond. She was point guard for the Basketball team and Evelin's best friend.

            The gym was already filling up when they got there. There would be a basketball game, until then everyone was conjugated in the gym. Music was blaring and some students where dancing. There was a plenty full amount of sparkling  grape juice.   

            Adrian sat in the car with Alex and Lexus. Alex drove to Willowcreek high school, he revved the motor of his the new Porsche. The arrived to the school to find the parking lot jammed with cars almost like it would be during a school day.        Adrian split off from Lexus and Alex when he got into the gym looking for Evelin. He found her in the middle of an intense juniors versus seniors basketball game.

            She and Lucila  were passing back and forth as they ran down the court. The seniors where down by three points and the game had less than a minute left. Lucila made it to the three point line and out of desperation shoot the ball at the basket. The went in with a swoosh, Lucilia and Evelin hugged laughing happy they had won the game. They walked of the court still high off wining.

            Adrian approached her after she left the court. “Hi Evelin. Nice game.” He said when he got to her.

            Evelin looked up to see Adrian. Not exactly the person she'd expected to see. She didn't really think he was going to come. She smiled and Adrian smiled back.

            Lucilia looked at Evelin curiously. She was obviously knew who this guy was, but Lucilia was certain she had never seen him. She knew everyone, which wasn't hard when your school  had less than four hundred students. She didn't like the look of him maybe it was just her prejudices, but he set off her player alert.

            “How are you?” Evelin asked.

            “Good. Who is your friend? You play a mean game,” Adrian said while motioning at Lucilia.

            “I'm Lucilia, are you new?”

            “Yes I moved to Willowcreek a few days ago. Can I call you Lucy?”

            “No you may not. How do you know Evelin?”

            “Evelin prevented me from freezing?” Lucilia looked at Evelin oddly. Adrian had said it suggestively. She hoped Adrian hadn't lost her virginity to this jerk.

            Evelin glared at Adrian pissed at the tone of words he used. “He got lost at the Wrimo glacier trail and I helped him get back.”
