Love in Unexpected Places

Chapter 8

Lexus didn't know why but she felt the need to get her appearance approved by Alex. She walked across the hall to where his room was and knocked softly. Alex opened the door in a towel assuming it was his mom or dad. But instead Lexus stood there dressed in a dress that came to her ankles. The fabric was a tight fitting grass colored green with spaghetti straps and a low cut v neck. It widened at the bottom and had two colors. The dress showed lots of Lexus cleavage. Alex starred at her and didn't even try to hide his attraction to his sister.

            Lexus watched as her brothers eyes scanned over her body in the dress. He took the look on his face as a sign of approval. But she wanted to hear him say that he liked it. “What do think?”

Alex didn't answer he just looked at her dumb founded. What did he think he though that his twin sister was gorgeous. But he couldn't say that aloud.

            “Do you think maybe its to tight?  If you don't like it  I'll go change.”

            Alex let out a noise close to a growl. Outraged that Lexus would even consider changing. Lexus was enjoyed harassing Alex. He came closer to her and she stepped up to meet him. They didn't even think about there lips just meet and then there was passion that shouldn't belong to a brother and sister.

            Adrian and Evelin got out of his snowy car and he quickly lead her into the house. Evelin admired the architecture, it had been designed to look like a traditional cabin but had a contemporary flair, and was about a hundred times bigger. They had entered into the living room. Which had been decorated with million of colorful flowers of every verity. Food already sat of most of the tables.  Appetizers, all the food Lexus, Alex, and Adrian had made.

            Adrian's parents heard him park his car and came down from there bedroom. They knocked on Lexus's and Alex's door yelling through the door to come down stairs.

            Audrey looked radiant as she came down to meet Evelin. Her black dress was black and matchernly. Thomas wore a suit with a red shirt underneath.

            “Hello, I'm Thomas Grantwise and This is my wife Audrey. I presume your Adrian's date?”

            “Yes, I'm Evelin Noel.” Adrian put his arms around her shoulders and Eveline fought the urge to push it off because that would probably look odd in front of his parents.

            “Noel? Why doesn't that sound familiar?” Thomas said to Audrey and then looking in a row of book shelves.

            “It means Christmas in French.”

            “No as a last name.” He looked through a row of books and then pulled one out. “Here we go, A little mountain town: A picture journal of Willowcreek Washington and its Mountains, it was done by Henry Noel. Any relation?”

            Evelin felt a tear slide down her check her fathers book the collection of pictures he'd taken. She smiled, “Thats my Dad, I didn't really know anyone outside of Willowcreek had read it.” Adrian was intrigued as Evelin took the book from his father and flipped through it like she had never read it.

            “Its why we moved to Willowcreek instead of another town.”

            Evelin smiled genuinely. Then look through the book and resisted the urge to cry. The book had hundreds of pictures starting with town and moving to the oddest things the mountains at night, in the dead of winter. She had never allowed herself to look at his book. He had put it together over the years and her mother had had it published it after his death. Evelin found pictures of herself mixed in with the pictures of the town. A picture of her making a snow man. A picture of her on her first trek to the top of a mountain. Adrian parents went left Adrian and Evelin alone. Adrian sat a read the book behind Evelin. He saw the pictures of Evelin and of her childhood

            Alex and Lexus jumped apart from each other as Audrey knocked on the door. She told Alex to be downstairs soon. Lexus straightened her dress and gave her short hair a shake. That was all it took for her to look presentable. She wondered down the stairs.

            Leaving Alex alone in his room watching her still. He dresses quickly. He want to talk to Lexus but that would have to wait for servile hours. He quickly buttoned up a navy colored dress shirt and pulled on dress pants. Then he came down the stairs taking them two at a time.

            Adrian and Evelin sat close together on the coach, Evelin flipped through the pages looking at the pictures and glancing at the captions. Evelin wasn't nearly as sensitive to Adrian's closeness. Neither he nor she spoke
