The next morning Adrian woke up happy, he would get to see Evelin. At school to be amused by her. He wast really awake as he left the house, leaving his back pack on the kitchen table. He called Evelin as he drove. Ignoring the fact that it was against state law.
Evelin woke up pleasantly happy. After today one more day and then it would be the weekend. She could sleep in and not worry about school for two days. Evelin always thought the first week back to school after a break was the hardest. The time had slugged by, she got tired of taking notes and doing homework. Adrian had entertained her through the week and she felt like she was really getting to know him.
The phone rang to Evelin's surprise. It didn't look cold enough for Lucilia's truck to be misbehaving. "Hey," Evelin answered.
"Hey Evelin, do you want a ride?" said the voice of Adrian.
"Sure."
"Okay I'll be there soon."
Evelin hung up the phone and called Lucilia.
"Hello?" said Lucilia's sleepy voice.
"Hey, it's Evelin."
"Morning Evelin."
"Are you enjoying having Eric back?" Evelin said guessing the cause of Lucilia's tiredness.
"YES! We went to dinner last night. It was so romantic. He told me all about Seattle and what well in there next year."
"Thats cute, I'm so happy you're going to University together."
"Me too. You'll be there with use won't you?"
"I don't know University of Washington hasn't sent there engineering program acceptances yet."
"I'm sure you'll get in."
"Hopefully."
"So was there a purpose to your call?"
"Yrs I don't need a ride."
"Oh, you decided that buses don't suck that much after all."
"No not at all. I got a ride with Adrian."
"Oh, have fun."
"No more, 'be careful'?"
"No he seems nice I may have judged him prematurely."
"Okay, see you at school Lucilia."
"Bye Evelin."
Evelin ate a granola bar and a glass of milk for breakfast. Glancing out the window occasionally to look for Adrian.
Adrian pulled up at Evelin's house a little while later. Adrian pulled in front of Evelin's house and reached back for his book bag in order to get his iPod. But it wasn't there, cursing Adrian pulled out his phone and called Lexus.
"Hello,"
"Lexus it's Adrian. Are you still at the house?"
"No why?"
"I left my book bag. I"ll go get it."
"Okay," Then the phone disconnected;
Evelin climbed in the passenger side door. "Morning."
"Hey, I left my bag at home. Is it okay if I go get it?"
"Yeah,"
When Adrian got onto the main road he accelerated the car, going faster than he should.
"Slow down, you'll end up running us off a cliff if you continue to drive like that."
Adrian listened. "Sorry I don't want to make you late."
