Evelin body had the chills but she continued to walk. She wished she'd just rode the bus with Margret. Even if it was loud and disgusting.
Adrian passed Evelin and hit the breaks. His cars thermostat showed it was bellow zero. Evelin looked up at the stopped car.
“Evelin?” Adrian said lowering the electronic window.
“Yes.” Evelin said with a shiver.
“Get in.” Adrian hadn't meant for it to come out like a command. Evelin wanted to say that she didn't need a ride or to be told what to do but she could feel the heat coming from the partially open window. Evelin open the door and slide inside. She shivered again from the temperature contrast.
Adrian handed Evelin his cup of hot chocolate. Evelin took it happily and gulped it down. Adrian kept the car pulled over. Evelin was still cold, Adrian turned up the heat and put a arm over her shoulders.
“Does that feel better?”
Evelin nodded enjoying the heat of the car and the hot chocolate. “What happened to the overpriced coffee?” Evelin asked
“I wasn't in the mood. So why are you walking?”
“Lucilia's truck doesn't start when it gets to cold.”
“So you walked to school?”
“Yep,” Evelin said with a smile.
Adrian laughed and pulled the SUV back onto the road and drove to school with one arm still around Evelin.
Lexus felt better after her shower, she merged seamlessly into her facade. She did her hair and make up and dressed in jeans and a long sleeve green shirt. Lexus walked down the stairs and poured herself coffee.
“Where's Adrian?” Lexus asked Alex. Alex and Lexus were both avoiding looking at each other. At facing what they had done.
“Already left.” Alex said flatly not looking up from his breakfast or the newspaper he was starring at.
“Where's Adrian?” Lexus asked Alex. Alex and Lexus were both avoiding looking at each other. At facing what they had done.
“Already left.” Alex said flatly not looking up from his breakfast or the newspaper he was starring at.
“Oh, whats new in the world?” Lexus said referring to the paper in front of Alex.
Alex actually read the front page of the Seattle times he'd been starring at. He proceeded to read Lexus todays headlines.
Both acted as though it was just another day, but out of the blue Lexus asked the questions that were really on her mind.
"Why did you leave last night?"
"I didn't leave."
"Yes, you did. The other half of the bed was empty when I woke up."
"What was I supposed to do? Spend the night? What if Adrian had walked in on use in the morning?"
Lexus knew he was right. "You could have said good night."
'"You were already peacefully asleep Alexandra, I didn't want to wake you." Alex said.
Lexus nodded, and hugged her brother. He could be so nice and loving to her. She got up the confidence and kissed him unexpectedly. She ignored how she'd felt this morning her brother made her beautiful.
Alex kissed her back, but pulled back. "Lexus were in the kitchen. Someone could walk in one us."
"Who? Mom and Dad are in Seattle. Adrian left for school early. Were safe, don't use that as an excuse to push me away."
"Oh, Lexus its not like that, its just I know they'll flip if they were to find out." Alex said while rubbing his sisters back.
"We need to get going if were going to make it to school on time," Lexus said moving away from Alex.
"Do we have to go? I feel sick." Alex said faking a cough.
"Yes,"
"Can i take the Ferrari then?"
"What the hell, go ahead."
Alex took Lexus's hand and lead her into the garage and his shinny new toy.
Turning on and enjoying the sound of its high powered motor.
