Chapter 16: The First Move

(Shindong) 

       Shindong flopped onto his bed and it groaned from his weight. He patted it. "What a sad looking bed," he said. 

        "Yeah, even Ryeowook's bed does that, and he's tiny," Donghae said, grinning. 

        "So we have a special room just for the 10 of us?" Henry asked. 

        "Yes." Donghae answered him, "They said there will be work for us to do tomorrow too, so we should get a lot of sleep." 

        "What work?" Henry asked, frowning. 

        "We're gonna take District 14." Shindong told him as he sighed unhappily, he wasn't doing well with the no food in bed thing, and he hadn't found a way around it yet.

        "How come I wasn't told about it?" Henry asked. 

        "They didn't tell Kyuhyun and Ryeowook either, it was supposed to be kept a secret because they wanted to keep you three behind. But then someone," Donghae looked at Shindong, "Blurted it out." 

        "Sorry." Shindong apologized. 

        "Why didn't they want us to go?" Henry asked. 

        "Leeteuk." Eunhyuk said simply as he walked out of the bathroom, "He wanted to keep you young ones safe, he wanted to keep Kibum behind too but then Kibum overheard and there was a fight." 

        "So what will you tell Kyuhyun and Ryeowook when you go tomorrow?" Henry asked. 

        Donghae shrugged, "Beats me what excuse Teukie has in mind. But if Kyuhyun finds out then he'll insist on going and leaving Wookie behind to keep him safe." 

        "Can I go too? If I ask Teukie hyung?" Henry asked hopefully. 

        "I don't know!" Donghae threw his hands up, "I don't even know how we're going to take over Yesung's goddamned district!"

(Leeteuk) 

        "BUT I WANNA GO TOO!" Henry hollered and stamped his feet. 

        "Please Henry there's been a change of plans only 5 of us are going anyway you'll still have plenty of friends!" Leeteuk pleaded. 

        "BUT I WANT TO GO HELP!" Henry screeched. 

        "Help with what?" Kyuhyun asked, walking into the room with Ryeowook. 

        Leeteuk sighed, oh great, now he had to deal with them wanting to go too. 

        Heechul narrowed his eyes, "Come here Wookie." 

        Ryeowook walked over, looking a little confused, "Hyung what-" 

        "Again?" Heechul snarled, looking at Ryeowook's neck. 

        "Hyung!" Ryeowook protested, "We didn't even do anything last night! We were in the same room as you we couldn't have done anything anyway!" 

        "These are new! I can tell-" Heechul turned to Kyuhyun, "Cho Kyuhyun-" 

        "Can you just tell me what Henry wants to help with?" Kyuhyun sighed. 

        "He wants to- help- uh- make weapons- but I - think that they're too - um- sharp for him, so he's making a fuss." Leeteuk stammered. 

        "LIAR!" Henry shouted, "THEY'RE GONNA GO TAKE OVER DISTRICT 14 AND GET IT BACK FROM THE CAPITOL WITHOUT US!" 

        "Wait-wait- wait, without us?" Kyuhyun said angrily. 

        "Only 5 of us are going and you three are not going to take part in it okay!" Leeteuk said angrily. 

        "Not okay!" Henry and Kyuhyun shouted together. 

        "It's not your choice!" Heechul shouted back to defend Leeteuk, "One more word out of you guys and I will personally make sure you never get to see Ryeowook again, Kyuhyun!" 

        That shut him up.         

        "And you." Heechul turned to Henry, "I will make sure you never have clean socks to wear again!" 

        "Hyung." Henry whined. But Heechul gave him a look and he shut up. 

        "Okay, so is everyone here? Good." Leeteuk said, "We just have to wait for-" 

        "Me?" Lay asked as he walked into the room with his guards behind him, he sat down at the head of the table, "You take charge Leeteuk." 

(Lay) 

        "Okay.' Leeteuk said nervously, "So 5 of us are going to District 14 to take it away from the capitol okay? I mean, we already have some District 14 people here, but 90% of them are still in District 14. We want to get them on our side, I mean like- they already are, but there are still the peacekeepers watching over them and they can't rebel. So we go, we fight the peacekeepers, and we mark District 14 as ours. We'll have guards there, so if the capitol tries to take it back we can fight. Five of us will be going, because-" he took a deep breath, "Because we are the head of the rebellion, all of us tributes, and at least some of us should show our faces to give the people strength, and to show the capitol that we haven't given up." 

        The moment he finished speaking there was an uproar, "Why only 5?" 

        "Not fair! All of us should go!" 

        "I want to fight too!" 

        "QUIET!" Heechul shouted, and Kangin, who had not complained, nodded in agreement. 

        "If too many people go and something happens, we might not be able to save everyone." Kangin said. 

        Lay sat there quiet, he felt amused at how well Leeteuk, Heechul and Kangin worked together, They worked together well, they were the leaders, they took charge. Leeteuk, with Heechul and Kangin as his second and third in command. The 10 of them worked like a family. These three were the parents, and the rest were their children. Lay preferred to keep quiet right now, he wanted to see how they would take charge. 

        "Alright." Leeteuk said, "I'm going, Heechul's going, and Kangin-" 

       "But that isn't fair! You and Heechul already got to go get Kyuhyun and Ryeowook yesterday!" People began to protest again.         

        "SHUT UP!" Heechul hollered, "THE THREE OF US ARE GOING WITH TWO MORE OF YOU LITTLE GITS! AND THAT IS THAT! THE NEXT PERSON WHO COMPLAINS WILL NOT BE GOING ON ANY MISSION EVER!" 

        The room went silent once more. 

        "Uh, okay." Leeteuk broke the silence, "I was thinking- Shindong, and Kibum? I didn't want to take you at first but-" 

        "I'm going." Kibum said flatly. 

(Kibum) 

        He was going for sure, he needed to do something, take action, to get things off his mind. And the district he was going to was definitely the right one. District 14. Yesung's district. The boy Sungmin had loved, "I'm going." he said flatly, "For Sungmin." Take District 14 away from the capitol, as a punishment, for killing the boy Sungmin loved. For killing my friend Yesung. For doing that and breaking Sungmin's heart. He thought savagely. 

        "I'm in. On one condition." Shindong looked at Lay. 

        "And that is?" Lay asked. 

        "I get as much food as I want and I can eat it whenever and where ever I like."         

        Lay smiled weakly, "If that's what you want."
