Chapter 18: The Beach

(Ryeowook)

        "Will he be okay?" Ryeowook sobbed. 

        Kyuhyun lovingly put his arms around Ryeowook's waist, "Of course he will." he said, but he wasn't sure. The doctors themselves had said they weren't sure. 

     "Maybe." Eunhyuk said mournfully, "Maybe it would be better if he went, then he could be with Hangeng, that's what he wanted isn't it?" 

        "No he can't die." Leeteuk said, after all these hours of sitting there beside Heechul's bed, he was still holding his limp hand. 

        Kangin murmured some words of comfort before walking away to do something. He did not come back. 

        Finally, after another hour of waiting, Leeteuk turned to them and said, "It's okay, you kids go to bed first. No point in waiting here with me all night." 

        This time, they all knew they should not argue, they nodded and one by one they walked out of the hospital room. When they got back to their room they found that Henry had come back and was asleep on his bed, snoring lightly. Shindong was stuffing himself with food on his bed to stop himself from worrying and Kangin and Kibum were whispering in a corner of the room. When Ryeowook entered the room with the other three, Kibum and Kangin fell silent, which made Ryeowook wonder if they had been talking about him. 

        "He'll be alright." Kyuhyun said to Kangin, who nodded, "Heechul hyung is tough, he'll survive." 

        "Oh god." Shindong closed his eyes, "What if he wakes up and can't remember any of us?" 

        "That won't happen." Kyuhyun said confidently. 

        "I still think he would be happier if he could join Hangeng hyung." Eunhyuk said quietly, so that only Donghae and Ryeowook could hear. 

        "So you got District 14?" Ryeowook asked loudly. 

        "Yup." Kangin said, "It belongs to us now. It's...no longer the capitol's. Hard to believe, huh?" Kangin said. 

        "Yea, it's always been the capitol's....this is new....did they ... the District 14 people... help you fight?" Kyuhyun asked. 

        A small smile appeared on Kangin's face, "The whole district."

        "Ryeowook! Ryeowook!" Ryeowook could hear his name being said in a hushed voice. 

        "Huh? Who-?" he mumbled, still half asleep. 

        "It's me! Eunhyuk! And Donghae!" Eunhyuk whispered, "Get up!" 

        "But whyyyyy," Ryeowook moaned unhappily as he snuggled closer to Kyuhyun. 

       "You guys can cuddle later! We want to show you something! Come quick, before Kyuhyun wakes up!" Eunhyuk hurried him. 

        This time Ryeowook decided to just do what he said and got out of bed, he followed Eunhyuk and Donghae out of their room and into a lift, "Where are we going?" he asked. 

        "You'll see." Eunhyuk said, grinning happily. 

        "It's beautiful." Donghae added, "It's definitely worth waking up for." 

        And after that none of them said anymore. They walked out of the secret underground compound and out into the open air. Ryeowook continued to follow them as they walked on and on, "When will we get there? We've been walking for 15 minutes." Ryeowook said. 

        "There-we're nearly there- just - there." Eunhyuk grinned proudly as he pointed to what was ahead of them. 

        It was the ocean, none of them had ever seen the ocean or been to the seaside before. A great body of sparkling clear blue water was stretched out before them, and a sandy white beach, "Woah." Ryeowook whispered, "It's amazing." 

       "I've never seen one before this either, I mean the ocean," Donghae smiled, "Zhoumi was in District 4 so he told me about oceans and stuff, but I never thought it could be this beautiful."

        "Let's go!" Eunhyuk said, and together the three of them raced to the beach. They rolled on the sand and laughed, "How come my district doesn't have this?" Eunhyuk laughed, "It's amazing!" 

        "How did you find out about it?" Ryeowook asked as he and Eunhyuk buried Donghae into the sand. 

        "Well I took a walk with Donghae and then we found it!" Eunhyuk said proudly. 

       "But why couldn't you just bring all of us in the morning? Why bring only me here? And at night?" Ryeowook asked. 

        "We wanted it to be our secret place. But only having two people here wouldn't be fun. So we thought of you." Eunhyuk said happily, "Now let's dig Donghae up and go swimming!" 

        It took them a while to dig Donghae up, but once they did they ran into the water and splashed their bodies clean of the sand. After that, they just sat around on the rocks talking until they fell asleep. When they woke up, it was already, according to their watches, 10 in the morning. 

        "We've been here since 2: 30 in the morning." Eunhyuk said in awe.

        "We better get back." Ryeowook added, "The others will be frantic right now." 

        They started the walk back and went back into the compound, the moment they walked in they bumped into Kyuhyun, "KIM RYEOWOOK!" Kyuhyun yelled angrily, "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?" 

        "It's okay Kyuhyunnie! I was just with Donghae and Eunhyuk!" Ryeowook told him. 

        Kyuhyun glared at them, "DID YOU RAPE HIM?" he demanded. 

        Eunhyuk scoffed in reply, "Of course not I already have a boyfriend why should I rape him? We just went for a walk." 

        "You were gone since I woke up at 6!" 

        "A long walk then." 

        "Why are you guys wet and smell salty then?" 

        The three looked at each other, "It rained." Donghae said lamely. 

        "Ah yes I'm sure it did." Kyuhyun said sarcastically, "From now on." he yanked Ryeowook away from them, "You are staying with me all the time." 

        "Kyuhyunnie." Ryeowook complained, "I want to have friends too!" 

(Eunhyuk) 

        "Poor kid." Eunhyuk shook his head sadly as Kyuhyun dragged Ryeowook away. 

        "I WANT TO HAVE FRIENDS TOO OKAY!" they could hear Ryeowook scream, he stormed away from Kyuhyun and back to them, "Let's go guys." he said in a snappish voice. 

        Kyuhyun just stood there, "Wait!" he called deserately, "Heechul woke up!" 

        All three slowly turned around. "There was something in the bullet that they shot at him." Kyuhyun said slowly, "Some sort of poison or something..." 

        "What did it do?" Donghae shouted fearfully. 

        "It made...he thinks... he thinks we are the ones who killed Hangeng."

       so a kyuwook fight and heechul now thinks they are mutts and that they killed hangeng. dont worry kyuwook will make up very quickly
