Chapter 20: He Loved Yesung

(Kyuhyun)

"Ryeowook!" Kyuhyun called, running after the smaller boy, "Wait!"

Ryeowook turned around, "What is it?" he asked, his voice was a bit cold.

"I'm sorry." Kyuhyun said simply, "I was just scared that I would lose you-"

"Why do you have to be so possessive?"

"I - I -" Kyuhyun stammered, and then he started crying, Ryeowook immediately rushed to hug him, "Shh Kyunnie don't cry, I'm sorry, I was being mean to you." and without a warning he too burst into tears.

"Ryeowook!" Kyuhyun sobbed, holding the other tight.

"You took care of me in the training center and in the arena and here and instead I just treat you like this- I'm a terrible person." Ryeowook sobbed uncontrollably into Kyuhyun's chest, "You deserve better than me."

"Don't you dare say that again!" Kyuhyun said, wiping his tears, "I'm the one who doesn't deserve you!"

"That's not true." Ryeowook said, still crying.

"Shh." Kyuhyun gently kissed away the tears on Ryeowook's cheeks, "Don't cry, baby. From now on I'll be less possessive and let you spend some time with your friends too, okay? Just be careful."

"Okay Kyunnie." Ryeowook said, rubbing his head against Kyuhyun's chest.

"You're like a cat!" Kyuhyun laughed as he picked Ryeowook up, "Wanna get some rest now?"

"Yes." Ryeowook mumbled sleepily as Kyuhyun carried them to their bedroom.

"We'll need to ask for a bedroom for just the two of us." Kyuhyun said.

"Mmm." Ryeowook agreed as he fell asleep.

(Leeteuk)

"Heechul? How are you today?" Leeteuk asked the next morning as they filed into Heechul's hospital room for the next meeting with Lay.

"Fine."

"Okay." Lay said, starting their meeting, "The next district we will take over is, as you already know, District 13."

Leeteuk glanced at Kibum to see his reaction. District 13 was Sungmin's district, Kibum would want even more revenge here. But Kibum's face remained blank as usual.

"This time, only 4 of you will go. But we will have new suits for you, with lots of padding and armour and protection, to keep you safe."

Heechul's experience has definitely made them more careful. Leeteuk thought.

"Drive the peacekeepers away, protect the people, same as last time." Lay concluded, "Who's going?"

"Me." Kibum said calmly.

"You already went last time!" Eunhyuk protested.

Anger flashed in Kibum's eyes, his faked calmness faded away, "I am going." he hissed at Eunhyuk, "Whether you like it or not. I went last time to avenge Yesung for Sungmin because he isn't here to do it himself, and this time I'm going for Sungmin. I also need to go to my District, District 12, to help all my friends there. From then on, I won't insist on going. Because after I avenge Yesung, Sungmin, and my family, I am done. These are the three Districts that I have to go to, and no one is stopping me."

Leeteuk understood him, and so did Lay, "So Kibum and who else?" Lay asked.

"Me." Ryeowook said, "He was my best friend."
