Chapter 3

Taegan

"Good evening everyone. We're the Silhouette, and this song is for you."

The crowd cheered as we started performing. Napangiti ako nang makita si Leah sa table na malapit sa stage.

Yoj and her friends are occupying a table near the bar.

Matapos ang ilang kanta. Oras na para kantahin ang kantang nilaan ko para kay Yoj and to her friends since they just graduated.

"This next song is for Yoj and to her friends  who just graduated. Yoj, congrats sa inyo!" Sigaw ko over the mic. The crowd clapped.

Nagsimulang tumugtog ang banda as I was getting ready to hit the first stanza of the song.

Kinanta lang naman namin ang High Hopes by Panic! At The Disco. The crowd of tonight cheered, they showed us their drinks and cheer, ganon din sila Yoj. That made me smile, but my gaze went straight towards her beautiful friend. Xeah smiled, the kind of smile that makes your heart flutter. Damn, what's happening to me? I shake the thought and just continue singing. 

After the song, pinalitan na kami ni Sam.

Bumaba kami sa stage and the band and I meet with Yoj and her friends.

Sinabay ko na din si Leah kasi mag-isa lang siya.

"You did great there." Puri niya pa. I smiled, blushing at her praise. Minsan lang 'to no! Crush ko kaya 'tong babaeng 'to. 

"Thanks." I said. 

When we reached their table, Devon was surprised to see Rahi, kahit na heads up ko na siya. Can't blame her cause I was surprised too. Sinong mag-aakala, na makikita pa namin ang isang magandang estranghera back when we were at Oriental last year? Small world nga siguro.

"Hey you're that girl right?" Tanong ni Devon nang makabawi siya. Just to make sure. I chuckled. Baliw din siya eh. Kilala niya naman si Rahi. Alex and the girls looked at each other then to me, throwing a questioning look. Right, busy sila magpakalasing ng gabing 'yun.

"Yes, that was me." Rahi answered, sabay akbay sa girlfriend niya. Napangisi pa ako when Devon's eyes widened because of the gesture. 

"Your girl from home, I presume?" Tumango si Rahi with a big grin plastered on her face. Damn, ang angas niya talaga. If Rahi didn't have a girl back then, baka ako na nga ang nakipag flirt sa kanya noon. She really has the angst that makes the girls look back on her twice. 

"Right, girls meet Yoj and her friends." Pakilala ko sa kanila. Kilala naman ng banda si Yoj, syempre anak ng amo namin 'yan. They got acquainted naman. Lalo na sila Luci and Devon, no doubt about it. Mukhang may wingman na si Devon this summer. Or maybe the other way around. I don't know really. Pinakilala ko din sa kanila si Leah.

Hindi mapawi ang ngisi sa mukha ni Yoj when she finally met Leah. Kinukuwento ko lang sa kanya si Leah dati, ngayon she's meeting her. Muntik ko nga nga batukan dahil sa mapanukso niyang ngisi eh.

The rest of the night, we drank it away. But Leah and I were talking about stuffs. Ewan ko ba, pagdating talaga kay Leah nauubusan ako ng pag-uusapan. She's a ladylike type of woman, and I really don't use my effect on women--if that's a thing. Nababakla ako dito kay Leah. 

"So may plano ka bang mag-aral ng kolehiyo, Tay?" I sipped from my drink before answering her. She's just facing me, her eyes not leaving me for a second. I get to stare at her beautiful face, this close. I'm not complaining.

"Wala sa isip ko. My goal right now is to become a famous artist kagaya ng pangarap ni Papa" I told her. 

"I really like how you are so passionate about your dreams." Sabi pa nito, she's smiling and I think her cheeks are reddening. Probably she had too much to drink already? Alangan naman mamula siya habang kausap ako? Asa ka Taegan!
