We showered together. I picked her up, put her legs on my shoulders and pounded her like a paddle ball. The kids haven't woken up yet. We dressed, went down stairs and cooked breakfast together. Lilly woke up and Charlotte went to get her ready. I watched as she sang good morning to our daughter. We went back down stairs J came down soon after and started eating breakfast.

A: What is bothering you this morning son?
J: I'm going to beat mom at the duck game.
A: Good luck. Your mom can shoot real ducks.
J: She is a girl.
A: So, girls can hunt.
J: Then why do you always take me?
A: I'm taking you and your mom on the next trip.
J: She will scare the animals away.
I just laughed.

C: What's so funny. Come on, I like to laugh too.

I backed away from J and took Lilly from

C:What are you doing?
A: Tell her J.
J: Look mom I know that you like to spend time with us, but hunting is a boy thing.

I started laughing.

C: Go get ready when nanny gets here I'm going to show you our ways.
She took Lilly and left.
J: What is she talking about?
A: She filled mine and her tags for 2 years in one trip.
J: What?
A: Why do you think Pat is afraid of her?

I laughed so hard.

Charlotte came back down, looked at me and J said we are going in the morning. My hunting clothes don't fit anymore. I laughed when she came down the stairs holding her pants up. J ran up the stairs. She looked at me and flipped me off.

A: I'm not sure I have time but ok.

Hush.

C: Can I give Pat a task?
A: Find you some camo?
C: Yes.
A: Hold on. I called him. He answers
P: Hey boss.
A: Pat Charlotte needs you to do something.
P: Please no.
C: Did you just say no?
P: I was talking to someone else.

Marshal and Fran came in the front door.

C: Fran what size clothes do you wear?
M: What is happening?
A: I think they are going hunting tomorrow.

He rolled his eyes.

C:Yay!! He found some and will bring them in an hour.
F: What is happening right now?
C: J said that I can't hunt because I am a girl.
F: It's on.
C: Let's go get our licenses.
F: Austin I will need to borrow a gun. Marshal wouldn't let me bring my shotgun.
I laughed..
A: She needs that Marshal.
M: Are you really giving her a gun?
A: Do you want to go?
M: Not really.
A: Me neither.
J: Don't make me go.
A: Have you ever heard me say no to your mom?
J: No.
A: There is your answer.
C: We are leaving at 4:00 be ready.
F: I'm staying here tonight.
M: Why?
F: To go hunting.

I woke up at 4:30 A.M.
I worked out alone. It was 6:00 when they came back.
They had at least 10 squirrels.
J went up stairs without speaking.
A: What's with him?
C: He is mad. I tried to show him and he refuses to do any of it.
A: What do you mean?
C: He wants to sit in a tree stand and wait. He got mad when Fran and I started tracking. He refused. I think it bothered him when we thanked the animal for its sacrifice and thanked God for the blessing.
She started to cry a little.
A: What's wrong?
C: I failed to teach him his heritage.
A: He is still young enough. I'll go talk with him.
