"Jeremy! Jeremy! I know you're in there! Open the door, Jer." Alisha Bennett yelled as she pounded on the door of Jeremy Gilbert's room. There was a storm and Alisha was soaked through her clothes, even her shoes but she didn't care much about the cold she would probably catch.
Her anger is what had fueled her to walk in the rain the first place.
When the door finally swung open, Alisha stormed into the room.
"Uh, come in." Jeremy responded sarcastically.
Alisha looked around the room. It was messy as usual.
She turned to face Jeremy.
"What the hell?" She yelled at him.
"I could say the same thing." Jeremy spoke as he shut the door behind her. "Did you walk here? Why the hell are you soaking wet?"
Alisha had felt guilty for dragging mud into the house even though Dr Sommers, Jeremy's mother had insisted it was okay that she come in.
She was so angry that she didn't realise how stupid heading here in the middle of the night during a storm was.
"Yes, I did. What happened to you tonight?" Alisha demanded.
Jeremy walked over to grab a towel which was laying on his bed and handed it to her.
"I wasn't in the party mood." He shrugged.
Alisha stared at the towel for a short while before accepting it.
Mike, their friend had just gotten his license, the first in their friend group, so he had been appointed their designated driver to their first official high school party. Even though they were only freshmen, Alisha had convinced her older sisters to get them invited.
"Then why didn't you just say something instead of just bailing?" Alisha demanded as she dabbed on her hair with the towel. To think she had spent so much time on it just to have it ruined.
Her hair had already started to curl up the way it did when it got wet.
Jeremy walked over to sit on his bed. "I don't know, Ali, I guess I didn't think you would notice."
Alisha had been scared of this since they started high school.
Jeremy was her best friend. They had been best friends since they were kids. Their older sisters would make them hang out together to get out of having to watch them.
They had been doing everything together since they were in diapers. They were inseperable but that seemed to be changing when they got to high school.
Alisha had immediately made new friends, friends she did beauty pageants with and went to cheer camp with. And she had immediately been declared 'popular' due to association to her popular sisters and their friends.
Jeremy hadn't really tried at all in Alisha's opinion. He didn't really seem to like Alisha's new social life. And he seemed determined to be a loner.
Alisha had tried her best to always include him in everything but lately he usually made excuses or decided not to show up.
Like today.
Alisha sighed and walked over to sit next to Jeremy. She had been planning on yelling his ear off for ditching their plans but now she felt horrible that he would say that.
"I wanted to spend the night with you. We haven't hang out in so long and I just wanted us to have this." She told him.
"I know, Ali... but you don't have to... I don't know, force things." He spoke sounding slightly frustrated.
