Alisha let out a giggle as Mike twirled both her and Tamela around at the same time.

An upbeat song from the fifties played and they tried their best to keep up. Not only because they didn't exactly know how to do the dances but also it was new having to split one guy between two girls.

But it was fun and they were all laughing constantly and improvising on the spot.

Tamela snorted out a laugh as Mike did a goofy tap dance kind of move that they all tried to imitate.

"Oh my gosh, someone's gonna hurt themselves." Alisha giggled, throwing her head back.

Her hair was straightened with the edges styled in ringlets. Ali's favourite part was how Bonnie had made bangs with their curling iron.

"Not if y'all keep up." Mike spoke as his moves got more energetic.

"Okay, I'm gonna take a break before Mr moves over here sprains or twists something." Alisha laughed before walking off the dance floor.

Also she just wanted to give the couple some room given that she had been third wheeling for most of the night.

She spotted Joshua not too far away standing alone and sipping on a cup of punch.

"Hey cool cat. Why do you look so blue?" She spoke in a teasing but friendly voice.

Josh looked down at Alisha and smiled showing his dimples.

Joshua was one of those OG Mystic Falls boys who Ali had known all her life.

He was a goofball and your typical fast talking and acting boy. Somehow he was popular, mostly because of his rich parents.

But all in all Alisha knew he could be decent and had a good heart.

"Your friend over there doesn't seem to want to dance with me or do anything fun really." He huffed.

Sabrina looked behind at Sabrina who was sitting down and sulking.

Alisha frowned. "Let me talk to her."

Alisha walked towards the blonde.

"Hey cool cat -"

"No." Sabrina spoke immediately shutting her down.

"O-Kay." Alisha spoke immediately recognising that Sabrina must have been in a mood.

She sat down beside her.

"What's going on gorgeous?" She asked softly, putting an arm around her shoulder.

Sabrina huffed but leaned her head on her friend's shoulder.

"Tonight has just been ruined."

Alisha frowned. "What? How? You look perfect, you've got a date -"

"But we were supposed to arrive together! And we were all supposed to have our own dates. It would have been so picture perfect."

Alisha frowned at Sabrina's words. "Sweetie," she spoke gently, "is something else going on? At home maybe?"

Alisha knew that a lot of people met Sabrina and immediately wrote her off as the spoiled princess daddy's girl type. But she had more depth than most realised.

And usually when she overreacted about otherwise tiny things, Alisha knew something else was going on.

This wasn't about Jeremy not arriving with her or the dance not being how she had imagined it. Sabrina used being controlling to hide when she wasn't in fact in control.

"Stupid Logan has gone MIA again and now my mum and dad are arguing all the time about being crappy parents and in the middle of all that, they keep turning to me. Putting more pressure on me to have my life together like perfect Meredith."
