"Oh my gosh, are you sure you're okay?" Tamela asked Alisha for the millionth time, looking up and down at her as if there was an injury that she had missed.

Alisha brushed her friend off. "Tam, I'm okay, I promise."

"That was just so scary." Tamela gushed.

"Scary as hell, what animal do you think did that to her?" Mike asked. Alisha wondered if he even realised that he had pulled Tamela in closer. Whether it was for his safety or hers, she couldn't tell but it was cute none the less.

"Guys, could we not talk about that?" Sabrina shuddered. "Gosh, I can still see the blood."

Alisha reached forward to pull Sabrina into her arms and rubbed her shoulder. "Guys, it's okay. You heard what the paramedics said, Vicki is alive and she's going to be fine."

Vicki wasn't Alisha's favourite person but she wouldn't wish what had happened to her on anyone.

Alisha looked in the distance at where the ambulance had just been a few minutes ago.

The cops were still lingering around probably talking to more students and seeing who needed a ride home. It probably wasn't a good look that at least a quarter of them were intoxicated.

Alisha could only imagine how Matt was feeling. Seeing his sister like that. She didn't even want to imagine how she would have felt if it had been Bonnie or Sasha.

"Hey guys."

The three sophomores looked up to see Sasha, Bonnie and Elena joining them.

"Are you guys okay?" Elena asked, rubbing Alisha's shoulder.

Alisha nodded.

She looked off in the distance at where a brunette boy sat alone on a rock.

"How's Jeremy?" She asked.

"A little shaken up but he'll be okay." Elena responded.

Alisha didn't know about that.

"Ali, We're gonna go to Mainline Coffee, wait for news. Do you want us to take you home?" Bonnie asked her little sister.

Before Alisha could respond, Mike spoke up. "I've got it. I can take the girls home." He offered.

"Okay." Sasha nodded before stepping forward to hug Alisha. "You four be safe and text me when you get home. You too Mike."

Sasha told Mike sternly.

"Got it, chief." Mike gave a mock salute.

Alisha could tell how tired and worried Sasha must have been to not shoot back a response. She was thankful for that. Because if either of her sisters were in the right state, they would have noticed that Sean wasn't here.

Alisha felt his jacket heavy on her shoulders and she felt a pang of hurt that he would just disappear during such a circumstance.

"Okay." Elena spoke wiping her hands on her jeans. "I gotta take Jeremy home."

Alisha looked back at Jeremy and saw that he was now up and pacing.

She frowned. "Uh Elena."

Elena turned her attention to the youngest Bennett.

Alisha rubbed her arm.

"Please let Jeremy know that if he wants to talk... I'm here."
