18. awkward moments

Aera's POV

"Bye hyung!" Aheon said out waving his hands as he entered the house leaving me alone with the two guys. I wasn't any close to ignoring the two, I didn't want to. Looking at Jake and Sunghoon, I let out an awkward laugh. "We'll go now." Jake said out with an awkward smile as I nodded returning back his smile. "Bye." Sunghoon said out and followed Jake as the two walked on their path leaving me alone in front of my house. Right after they were out of my sight, I let out a big heavy breath holding my heart. "That was so awkward."

Saying out, I ran inside trying to shrug it away.

Sunghoon's POV

"You think it's all cool?" I asked Jake as he just chuckled. "You do realize how awkward it was a while ago." He said out looking at me as I nodded slowly walking straight. "But isn't it easier now?" He continued making me look back at him. "She knows we like her. We don't have to pretend to just be good friends anymore." Well yeah I guess. But it's a 'we' and not a 'i' so it could be awkward for her. "Yes but-" Jake cut me off not letting me finish. "I know it's awkward. I know that."

He simply said walking silently. Thinking, I stopped on my way as he stopped as well seeing my still figure. "What is it?" The guy asked me as I stared at him before continuing. "I like her Jake." I said to him as he tilted his head. "And I won't back away." Finishing my sentence, I gulped and watched the confused guy give off a blank expression before smirking. Jake just smiled and continued walking as I did the same.

"I won't back away either Hoon."

Jake's POV

I walked back and forth waiting for the girl as I checked my time. "She's going to be late." I whispered to myself as I saw her blurry figure running towards me. Immediately pretending to walk to school, I stopped hearing her shout. "We will be late! Quick." The girl held my hand tightly and continued running towards the campus. I smiled as I saw our intertwined hands and followed Aera who was already panicking.

"We're sorry!" We both panted and said out bowing as the teacher sighed letting us in. Breathing heavily, I walked to my sit as I noticed Sunghoon blankly staring at the both of us. I smiled at him, sitting on my seat as Aera did the same. "How did you both come at the same time?" Sunghoon whispered to Aera as she looked at me for a slight second. "I slept in, and saw Jake on the streets so pulled him to ran along since we both would be very late." She said out as I nodded.

Sunghoon just pouted slightly before frowning at me as I heard a chuckle from the back. "Tsk kid behavior." Jay said out eyeing the both of us as Aera confusingly looked at her friend. Sunghoon glared at Jay as I shook my head laughing and went back to working.

Aera's POV

I sat on the table as the others brought the food from the canteen. Drinking my water, I noticed the guys coming towards my direction as I waved at them. Sunghoon and Jake both quickly came and sat beside me from both sides as I awkwardly froze. Wow this is going to be so weird. I mentally cursed out for sitting all alone. Sunoo eyed me and held in his laugh as I stared at him with a done look. Stop teasing me Kim Sunoo.

"Here you go." Jake gave me my food as I happily stared at it for a while. But this looks spicy? Shrugging my thoughts away, I immediately started eating and like I said it was spicy. Almost coughing out the food, I covered my mouth. "Water." I whispered out as the spice hit the inside of my tongue. "Here." The two guys said out at the same time from beside me as they held the water cups. I stared at the both of them not knowing whose one to accept.

Staring at Jay, I signed the guy to help me out here as he nodded sighing. "Thank you." He grabbed Jake's cup drinking the water as I immediately took Sunghoon's one and gulped it down finally getting the peace I had been wanting. Noticing Sunghoon's proud smile and Jake's frowned face, I awkwardly ate my food slowly. "Won't you eat?" I asked Jake as he nodded and started eating without saying much.

"I'm gonna go now." Jay said leaving the table along with Sunoo as it was only me, Heeseung and the other two. "Ahh I'm full." I said out leaning against the chair in exhaustion as Sunghoon stared at me for a while. "What happened?" I asked him out in curiousity as he came closer catching me off guard. "What the-" Jake couldn't finish, the boy came closer and wiped the food that was beside my lips. I couldn't even process at what was happening. "Tch how much do you need to wipe?"

Jake annoyedly said out as Heeseung let out a laugh seeing the awkward situation. Gosh what even is this. "Come on Hoon." Sunghoon's friend hold onto his hand trying to get him away from me but it soon turned into a competition and both Jake and Sunghoon were now fighting with simply one arm in front of me. "Stopp." I said but none of them would let go off each other. And when they did, Sunghoon's arms hit the cup of water in front as it fell all over me. "What the heck?" I stood up with water dripping all over me.

"Oh my gosh." They both tried helping me out but I angrily looked at them and pushed their hands away. "Stop it! Both of you. I'm so done with the two of you liking me and being best friends!" I angrily scolded them before grabbing my bag and leaving the canteen. But guess I spoke a bit too loud as I felt everyone's stares around me before leaving.

Jake's POV

All of us watched the angry girl leave the canteen before they started whispering. I stared at her until her small figure faded away. Looking over at Sunghoon, I saw his face and he felt guilty. Letting out a chuckle I covered my mouth finding everything too funny at the moment. What even was happening?
