Jungkook's POV

I strolled down the sidewalk leading to the park. I was planning on meeting up with Khali again to kill boredom. I stopped looking for jobs when I met her and began meeting with her. I found her more interesting and fun to be with. Khalisee and I had become closer than I thought.

I was nearing the park when a person accidentally bumped into me from behind.

Again. For the second time.

"Woah!" Before the man kissed the ground. I reflexively caught his arm and pulled him, steadying him on his feet.

While he was busy fixing his papers, I got to eye him from top to bottom and immediately realized who he was.

He was the same guy who bumped into me last time.

He turned to me then glanced at my hand, which is still holding his arm, then back to me. My eyes focused on him and reading his expression, I could tell he was feeling uncomfortable.

"Uhm... are you not gonna let go?" he asked.

"Are you not gonna apologize?" I retorted. "You bumped into me twice." With that said, he narrowed his eyes, unconvinced.

"Twice?" He repeated confusingly. Someone's forgetful.

I didn't answer and examine his changing expression. He furrowed his brows and tried to remember that time. When he finally did, he voiced a tiny 'oh' and gave me a sheepish look.

My brow raised at his reaction.

"You were that person I bumped into? I'm really really sorry, I was in a hurry and I'm running late. The cafe had to be open by eight and I overslept at my friend's so I–" my eyes turned into slits at the mention of a cafe.

"Cafe?" I interrupted, stopping him from explaining his reasons.

He fixed his gaze at me with confusion. "Yeah." he replied with hesitation.

"Are they hiring?" I asked in hopes of getting a 'yes' as an answer.

I probably passed by that cafe but didn't pay much attention to it. I didn't know why, but I felt this urge to work at the cafe this man is working at.

"No." He answered straight away.

My eyes narrowed at him and our eyes locked. I could see lies swirling in his coffee brown eyes. He's so easy to read that I decided to let him go.

I shrugged my shoulders. "Too bad then." I retracted my hand from his arm. "Be more careful next time. Have a good day." I gave him a quick nod before passing him by. Feeling his gaze following me before I disappeared from his line of sight.

Just like the color of his enchanting almond-shaped eyes. He has the scent of honey and a hint of flowery fragrance, but the coffee aroma overwhelmed me the most. He does work in a cafe.

Even from afar, his sweet scent still lingers.

"Mr. Bench! There you are!" I know that voice from anywhere.

My lips instinctively curved into a broad smile. I turned to my right and caught sight of a lovely little girl wearing a white t-shirt topped with denim jumper shorts and her long chestnut hair tied in a pigtail.

"And here I am, your Highness." I chuckled while bowing my head shortly. She sprinted towards me and opened her arms wide. I lifted her and placed her on my lap.

"How's your week, peanut?" I can't help but pinch her chubby cheeks. It's been like this the past weeks. I'm honestly surprised how she easily got on my soft side.

"Peanut?" she whined and pouted her lips. She obviously dislikes the nickname. I rolled my eyes at her.

"Ok fine, Angel then." I rephrased. She showed me a pleased look before answering my previous question.

"Oh! Mr. Bench! Let me tell you about my uncle." She sat properly on my lap and brought up a topic.

"Your uncle?" So suddenly? The only time she mentioned her uncle was when she told me she decided to come to stay with him here. Nothing more.

"Mhmm. Did you know..." she stopped and looked around then leaned closer to my ear. "... my uncle likes men." she giggled while covering her mouth.

My eyes went round as my whole face tinged with red on behalf of his uncle's embarrassment.

This kid!

"Uhmm. . . Khali." She looked at me.

"Yes?"

"I appreciate how you freely tell me everything and tell me secrets, however... this secret is something you shouldn't disclose to anyone," I told her.

She covered her gaped mouth with her tiny hands and looked at me with embarrassment.

"Oopsie," she squeaked. "You're not gonna tell my uncle... right?" She looked at me with her begging eyes.

To begin with, I don't know her uncle. It wouldn't be right not to say it to her uncle but Khali's young and she'll eventually learn from her mistakes as she grows up.

"Don't worry. His secret is safe with me." her face lit up once again. "But! Promise me first that you won't tell secrets from now on. Alright, Khali?" I told her while holding out my pinky finger. She nodded her head and then linked her pinky finger with mine.

"I promise!"
