(A/N: This happens a few months after the first part)

You are thrown to the ground in front of the throne by the two guards that had been flanking you. You try to stand up, but are forced to your knees again, making you stumble a bit.

"So... This is the legendary assassin everybody is talking about?" Asks the king of the woodland realm, raising an eyebrow.

"In person." You smile charmingly. "Would you like an autograph?"

The king ignores you. "You were caught sneaking through the palace in the dead of night. Why were you here?"

"As if I'd tell you." You roll your eyes. The guards beside you tense. "Besides... Ambushing me like this at night, with a whole group of guards, isn't this a bit... Dishonourable?"

"As if you know of honour." He scorned. "You, an assassin-"

The door opens, interrupting him, and who should enter the room other than... Prince Legolas?

"Father, I'm sorry for interrupting, but I heard that-" Legolas strides in, heading towards his father, but stops dead in his tracks as he sees you, his eyes widening. "Y/N?"

You wince. You would have preferred him not seeing you like this, bruised and cut from your recent fight with the guards.

"You... Know her?" Thranduil asks, turning to his son in disbelief.

"It's a long story." The prince sighs. "Why is she here, anyway?"

"Oh, I'm just having the time of my life here, isn't it obvious?" You reply irritably.

"She was caught sneaking around the castle at night." Thranduil tells his son, ignoring you once again.

"Um... I can vouch for her! She's innocent!" Legolas looks to you in bewilderment.

Both you and Thranduil look sceptical at that.

"Of course. An innocent assassin." Thranduil sighs sarcastically. "Now will you tell me then why she was sneaking around the castle, if you know her so well?"

"She's been teaching me how to fight!" Legolas finally explains. "We would meet at night and practice archery and sword-fighting, she could've had many chances to kill me but she didn't."

"And how did this start?" The king asks suspiciously.

"Um..." Legolas looks to you.

"I tried to kill him," you reason. "But I didn't, so that's okay, right?"

Thranduil looks exasperated. "So this is an innocent assassin who's been teaching you how to fight with sharp weapons in the middle of the night after she tried to kill you? Really, Legolas, did you not deem it important to tell me of your nightly dealings?"

"Well, to be fair, it's none of your business-" You start, but then you realize you're not really helping your case.

"Please father, she's done nothing wrong!" Legolas tries to explain to his father.

"Nothing wrong? Had it occurred to you she might just be gaining your confidence to get closer to you?" Thranduil asks, irritated.

"But I know she wouldn't do that! She's good, really!"

"And how can you know that?"

"Because... Because I really like her, and I care about what happens to her!" Legolas explodes.

The room is silent. Thranduil is frozen and you glance up to see the guards are very embarrassed, which makes you smirk.

"Well, that really was some declaration there," you say, and that seems to loosen the atmosphere, if not just a bit.

"Legolas... Really? Her?" Thranduil looks at his son in disbelief.

"Excuse me, she is right here?" You signal. "And while we're at it, I really like you too, Legolas."

Despite the awkward situation, the prince actually gives you a small smile. "Really?"

"Obviously, or I wouldn't say so." You shrug and turn back to the king. "So, your majesty, what'll it be? Life in prison or approval for marriage?"

Thranduil sighs. "Legolas, can you certify that no harm will come to anyone if I release her?"

"Yes, I'm sure she can manage." Legolas looks to you.

"For sure!" You add. "It's not like my job is about killing people or anything."

They both look at you.

"Okay fine, I'm quitting my job." You roll your eyes.

"Very well. If I have your word, you are free. Legolas, get her out of here. Guards, you are dismissed." Thranduil waves them off.

Legolas comes to offer you his hand as the guards walk away, and you gladly take it to get up. The two of you walk out of the room from the door Legolas had come from.

"That was some coincidence, wasn't it?" Legolas smirks.

"Yeah... I guess I should thank you for getting me out of that. I mean, I could just escape, but honestly, what a waste of my time." You shrug.

He laughs. "Always bragging, aren't you?"

"That's me! Better get used to it, 'cause you're going to be living with it forever! Literally!" You smile.
