Tauriel was getting more and more worried by the second, sitting in her bed, covered in a loose white robe. What if something had gone wrong? How would she know? What if-?
An elf in a white robe finally walked through the door, and Tauriel hurriedly looked up.
"Is everything all right?" She quickly asked. "Did you-?" She sighed in relief as she noticed a bundle of blankets in his arms, and she allowed herself to slump in relief against the pillows.
The elf smiled and handed Tauriel a bundle from his arms, and she gently accepted it. "Everything went perfectly. Your child is healthy and beautiful, my lady."
Tauriel looked down at the child in her arms, wrapped in a soft blanket, and felt tears gather at the corners of her eyes. "Bain gwinig," she smiled down at the small creature in her arms.
(Beautiful little baby)
The child had large, soft eyes, smooth, unblemished skin, and small, pointed ears on each side of her head.
She blinked gently, a few times, and stuck a small hand out of the blanket to try and touch Tauriel's face.
Tauriel laughed and took the tiny hand in her own, making the small child coo in surprise.
"Melui hên," she cooed back. "Suil."
(Lovely child, welcome)
The little baby giggled, but her eyes started to droop, and after only a moment, she quietly fell asleep. Tauriel watched the baby with a soft smile on her face.
She finally allowed herself to close her eyes, whispering one final time, "Losto vae."
(Sleep well)
And she fell into an exhausted, but infinitely happy, sleep.
