(A/N: means a time skip)

You raised your sword against the oncoming wave of spiders, but there were too many, even for a group of twelve dwarves, a hobbit and an elf.

A spider hissed and jumped on you and you cut it down, but two more replaced it.

You tried to shout that there were too many spiders for you to fight, but then an arrow appeared in the nearest one's head. You looked up, confused, and saw a group of elven guards jumping down from the trees to finish off the spiders.

A few moments later, they were all dead, but the elves had encircled the dwarves. Their leader was none else than your brother, prince Legolas. He pointed his bow at Thorin.

"Do not think I would hesitate to kill you, dwarf." His eyes narrowed. "It would be my pleasure."

Thorin threw down his sword in anger. The other dwarves followed. You shifted on your feet, insure of what to do. Legolas turned to you.

"Y/N." He was just as angry with you as he was with Thorin. Maybe more. "Adar wishes to speak to you."
(Father)

You sighed as the elves escorted the dwarves towards the palace. You didn't dare look at them, from fear they would know your relation with Legolas... Or worse, Thranduil. Thorin would never forgive you.

You stood before the king of the Woodland Realm, Thranduil. Also your father.

He motioned for the guards to take the dwarves to the dungeons. The guards looked at you, unsure of what to do.

Thranduil raised a hand. "Not my daughter. She is to stay."

Thorin went still with shock.

Oh no, you thought. Now he's going to hate me—

The dwarves were taken away and the room emptied except for you and your father. He sighed almost imperceptibly and turned to you for the first time.

You sketched a half-bow stiffly. "Adar."

"Y/n..." Thranduil started. "What am I to do with you?"

"I'm sorry." You looked down at your feet, embarrassed. "I—"

He raised a hand to silence you. "Gone. No note, nothing. And now, I see you've been off... Adventuring with these dwarves?"

"Adar, they really aren't so bad. And I've been safe— Not really, actually, but I can take care of myself!" You protested.

"Y/N!" He got up angrily. Uh-oh. Thranduil almost never lost his temper. "Could you have at least warned me?! I thought you were gone— You didn't say anything!"

"I'm sorry—" You looked up, and to your shock, there were tears in the corners of Thranduil's eyes.

He walked over to you, and you were shocked again when he put his arms around and embraced you.

"I love you, you know." He whispered.

You put your arms around him as well. "I... I know."

He sighed and stepped back from you. "Very well. You're free to go."

You smiled uncomfortably and walked to where you remembered your room to be.

You slid the key into the lock and the dungeon door opened. Thorin stood inside, angry.

"You—" He started, but you raised a hand.

"No." You shook your head and unlocked the next door. "I don't want to hear it."

As soon as all the dwarves were free, you scouted ahead down a hallway.

"This is the quickest exit—" There were guards at the exit.

You headed back to the dungeon area where the dwarves were waiting. Now where were they going to escape from?

"Y/N!" You turned, surprised, and there was Bilbo!

"Bilbo!" You raised your eyebrows. "I didn't see you come! Where have you been?"

He waved away the question. "They can get out by the kitchen, in barrels."

"Of course!" You got the dwarves together and led them towards the kitchen.

You looked down at the trapdoor where all the dwarves had gotten out. You sighed and glanced behind you.

"I'm sorry, ada." You whispered. And you jumped.

Thranduil found the note you had left on your bed.

'I'm sorry. I love you too.'

Thranduil sighed, annoyed. But then he smiled.
