Alicia
While my friends chatted with guys in leather, I caught Jax glancing at our table. He stayed on his barstool the entire night.
"What are you looking at?" Janie asked me.
"No one." I smiled.
"Well, someone caught your attention."
"It's nothing. Someone bought me a drink."
Janie shrugged.
Midway through the night, I got up and moseyed to the bar. "Can I get another Budlight?"
The server grabbed me another beer. Before Jax slapped money in the bar, I paid for my drink.
"You didn't need to pay."
"It would be right if I expected you to pay."
Jax drank his beer as I studied him. He had dark hair with a beard, and tattoos adorned his arms.
"What's the story with the tattoos?"
The server set the bottle on the counter.
Jax glanced at his tattoos. "No reason."
I slid onto the stool next to him. "Did it hurt?"
"Did what hurt?"
"The tattoos."
Jax turned to face me as I sipped my beer.
"Not really. Pain doesn't bother me."
"I'm not a fan of needles. When the doctor brings one out, I get squeamish."
Jax chuckled.
"So, you laugh."
He leaned on the bar and rubbed his beard.
"You seem like a loner."
"I enjoy my solitude."
"Yeah, but it gets boring. You know, with no one to talk to."
"I'm talking to someone right now."
"Are you sure? Because I'm doing most of the talking."
"I can be persuaded."
"Good because my friends are busy."
We glanced at my table.
"Then I guess I can keep you company."
"I guess you can." I smiled.
A smile crept up on Jax's face. He tried to hide it, but it didn't work. There was something about him.

JaxI sat at the bar and talked to Alicia. She wasn't like most women I encountered.
She brushed her long, brown hair behind her back as her chocolate brown eyes lit up. Everything about her was beautiful, but her personality captured me.
We had gotten so caught up in our conversation that her friends deserted her.
"Really?"
"What."
Alicia looked at the empty table. "My friends left, which means I have no ride home."
"Did you need a lift?"
"I can call a cab."
"No need." I got off my stool and pulled on my jacket. "I'll give you a lift home."
"I don't want to put you out."
"It's fine."
Alicia followed me out of the bar to my bike. I got on them helped her on the back. "Wrap your arms around my waist."
