Besides keeping Alicia a secret, Richard held a secret of his own. Gunner, Arlo, Andre, and Dax disappeared at different times. It put the club in a bind since they were intricate parts of it.

I discovered Blake's club members encroaching on our territories, turning people against us, including the cops. While Richard's attention was elsewhere, I took matters into my own hands.

I appointed two club members to work with me. First things first. Find the cops that Blake bought and show them why they shouldn't double-cross us.

Hawke and Roddy strolled over to the cop car hidden by shrubs. Hawke stood on one side. Roddy leaned on the car.

"Can we help you?" A guy asked.

"Yeah, Officer Grady. It seems we have a situation," Roddy said.

Hawke scoffed.

"And what might that be?"

"You flipped." Roddy wagged his finger at the cop. "Bad move on your part."

"I don't know what you're talking about." The cop shook his head.

"Suit yourself." Roddy shrugged and stepped aside.

I grabbed the cop and yanked him through the car window. I didn't allow him to fight and placed the barrel of my gun to his head, then pulled the trigger. The other cop reached for his revolver, but Hawke fired his gun. The guy sat in the front seat with a bullet hole in his forehead.

Roddy searched the car, pulled out an envelope of cash, and handed it to me. "Now what?"

I pulled a lighter from my pocket, flicked it, and lit the bills, then tossed it into the car. The flame ignited the interior of the vehicle.

"Now we hunt down the cops that cocksucker can't buy." I strolled to my bike and climbed on.

I started my bike and pulled away. Hawke and Roddy followed me. We pulled behind a vacant building. I called a number, and someone answered on the first ring.

"Pigs flew south."

Give me two minutes.

I slid my phone into my leather jacket and waited. A black SVU arrived, crawled towards us, and stopped. The back door opened as a man stepped out. He closed the door and strolled towards me with a hand in his dress pants.

"Who are you?"

"Whom I am isn't important?"

"You're not Mason."

"Mason is indisposed with a pressing business matter. He sent me instead."

I studied the man dressed in a designer suit. Mason had a business aspect that hid his dangerous nature. This man seemed cold and calculating.

"It seems you have a dilemma. The police that Mr. Brandon paid chose to explore different avenues. I'm here to rectify the matter."

I leaned on my handlebars. The man didn't smile but remained calm. An unmarked car pulled behind the black SVU and stopped. The doors opened as two men dressed in dress slacks and a button-down shirt exited the vehicle. They walked towards us.

"Who are they?" I nodded at the two men.

"They're here to handle your minor problem. They will intercept payment and in return will destroy evidence."

I arched my brow. I didn't trust people, especially suits.

"Mr. Harper, I assure you that you would rather deal with me than my brother."
