I got up and got ready. My tie was pissing me off, and I kept tying it.

Richard checked on me. "What's the holdup?"

"This fucking tie is pissing me off."

Richard chuckled and helped me. "Here, let me help." Richard tied my tie for me. "There."

I glanced at Richard wearing a suit. "I figured you would wear your gear."

"Don't start with me, Jax. Barbara was on my ass about wearing a suit. She told me if I didn't wear one, she would cut off my dick."

"A little harsh."

"Well, I don't need no shit today."

I snickered. We came out to find people gathering in the backyard. The boys wore suits, which impressed me. I was expecting leather jackets.

Andre tugged at his collar. "Fucking monkey suit. Why do we need to wear this shit?"

"Because we need to look respectable," Dax said.

"Fine, but I'm not wearing this fucking tie." Andre whipped off his tie and tossed it into the garbage.

"Christ, Andre. It's a fucking wedding," Arlo said.

"It's not my wedding." Andre shrugged.

The other guests stare at the guys in stunned silence. Richard wrangles them in before I lose my shit.

A few minutes later, Barbara walks up with Rocco. Rocco is tugging at his clothes while Barbara chastises him. Once Rocco sees Richard, he breaks free from Barbara's hand and runs to Richard. Richard scoops him into his arm.

Barbara walks over to me. "It's nice to see you again, Jax."

I give Barbara a slight nod. "How's Roc doing?"

"Roc has his moments like his father, but you know better than anyone."

"Yeah."

Gunner takes his leave to get Jaden and shield her from Barbara's wrath. When he returns with Jaden, Richard doesn't acknowledge his daughter even though Barbara suspects. I never confirm it.

While Mom dealt with the kids, Diana helped me get ready for the wedding. I stood in my dress and calmed my stomach.

"Are you okay? You seem nervous," Diana mentioned.

"Yeah, I'm fine. The last time I got married, he turned out to be a toad." I cringed.

Diana offered me a reassuring smile. "From what you told me, Jax is nothing like Jason."

"Jax is nothing like Jason. He has this tenderness that he hides from people. You see him with Elise. He's an incredible father."

"How does Jax treat you?"

"It's been trial and error, but Jax is learning."

Diana giggled.

Dad appeared in the doorway. "Are we ready? Because the groom looks like he's ready to rip off people's heads."

My eyes widened.

"That's our cue," Diana said.

We left the bedroom and headed to the back door. Mom situated Elise with a basket. The back door opened like a woman entered with a little boy.

"I don't want to," the little boy told the woman.

"Too bad. Suck it up and do what you're told," the woman told the boy.
