"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Colby questioned and Rebecca rolled her eyes
They were currently twenty minutes into their hike up the mountain to see the stunning view that Ireland has to offer.
"The doctor said working out is fine as long as I don't overdo it," Rebecca said for what felt like the fifth time in twenty minutes
"When did you talk to a doctor?" Colby questioned as he held onto her hands as she climbed the steep hill
"A few days before we came here, I knew we were going to be going on a hike and I wanted to be sure it was safe"
"How did you know I was going to say yes to this in the first place?"
"I know you can't say no to me" she looked back at him with a small smile
It took another 15 minutes before they reached the top of the mountain.
The view was just as stunning as Rebecca had described for the days leading up to this trip. You could look to the left and see cliffs, to the right and see greenery as far as your eye could see, and in front of you was a stunning view of the water crashing onto rocks.
"You picked a good mountain to hike" Rebecca looked back at Colby as he walked up behind her slowly "I said we were hiking and you got to pick the trail.. good job" she nodded as he wrapped his arms around her, resting his head on hers
"I just picked the first one I saw on the map" he shrugged as he placed a gentle kiss on her head
"I used to climb this all the time as a teenager.. whenever I wanted to get away from everything that was going wrong in life and everyone that was treating me horribly" she nodded "This was a haven for me.. a lot of memories were made up here"
"Good ones?" Colby questioned and she nodded slightly as she looked up at him with the back of her head on his chest
"Some were good.. a lot was bad, I came up here after fights with boyfriends, after Richie died, after my mum and I couldn't seem to see eye to eye on things and would have blowups. I did a lot of self-reflecting and growth here"
"Do you ever think about bringing our kids up here someday?" He asked "Hike with them"
"I mean I would love to bring our kids back here someday.. but with everything we've got going in the states. it's going to be difficult to get over here as much as I'd like.. and we can't really stay with my mum once we have our own family" she shrugged
"So we'll buy a home here" he stated and she looked at him with wide eyes "what?" He asked with a laugh
"You want to buy a home in Ireland?"
"why not? I want us to have someplace to escape to" he nodded "and I want our children to know the other half of where they come from"
"You're saying children like you want multiple," she said as she turned to face him as his arms stayed wrapped around her "What happened to mister one and done?" She asked and he shrugged
"With you, I see a lot of things differently than I originally planned for myself... I see a lot of good things in the future"
"How many do you want? How many kids?"
"As many as you're willing to give me," he nodded
"Seven," she said and his eyes widened
"Seven? Seven kids? Seven tiny versions of you and me?" He asked and she nodded "we've only got four hands between the two of us!"
