Colby reached out in the giant California king-size bed and was expecting to pull his wife into him, but all he felt was the empty sheets on her side. He sat up quickly and looked around their room confused, it was only just now 7 in the morning on this Saturday, and she should have been next to him.

He rolled out of bed and walked towards the connected master bathroom, and found her quickly as she looked at herself in the mirror.

"Baby," he said in a low voice, and she looked back at him

"Morning" she smiled at him and looked back at the mirror

"What are you doing awake?" He questioned as he leaned against the doorframe

"I was asleep and having a nice dream," she smiled at him through the mirror, "but somebody else had other plans" she shrugged

"You got sick again?" He asked, "Why didn't you wake me up?"

"Because you get up every single time.. you looked peaceful, and there's not much you can do anyway" she shrugged.

"That's where you're wrong. I can do something. I can hold your hair back and rub your back and make sure you know I'm here," he said

"I love how supportive you are through this" she nodded

"That's my job.. in sickness and health, remember?"

"For better or worse," she said with a small smile

"How much longer are you gonna have to go through this?" He asked

"Normally, it eases up around 12 weeks. I'm 11 now, so hopefully soon," she said, "but you wanna see something cool?" She asked, and he raised his eyebrows at her, and she reached out for him. "Come here, stand behind me" she grabbed his hand, pulling him over to her, and she backed into his chest and placed his hands under hers on her abdomen. "Look," she motioned to their reflection in the mirror.

"Wow," he said as he stared at her. There was now a tiny bump under his hand. "When did that happen?"

"Overnight, I guess, it wasn't there last night" she shrugged

"Baby is growing" he smiled

"It makes all the fatigue and nausea worth it" she leaned into his chest

"Come back to bed," he kissed her head. "CJ's still asleep, it's Saturday, and we have nowhere to be.. let's enjoy this while we can" he pulled her towards their bed once again

"We have so much to do today," She said as he pulled the duvet over their bodies

"We have nothing to do today" he shook his head. "I cleared your schedule."

"You cleared my schedule?" She asked, "without asking me first?"

"You've been running yourself into the ground the last few weeks. you need to rest"

"I'm trying to make sure everything is perfect for this presentation on Monday. You know the one with the Charities.." She said, and he nodded

"I know the meeting' he kissed her head, "and I also know how much it means to you."

"The women's shelter is an excellent investment, you know I was talking to one woman there that had a three-year-old son.. the same age as CJ, and she said that the shelter saved both of their lives, she was in a terrible spot with an abusive partner before she found this place."

"Which is why you should feel proud of all the work you've put into it" He nodded, "and take this time to relax for a day."

"I promised CJ I would take him by the dance studio today and see about signing him up for class."

"Where did he even come up with this idea of going to dance class?" Colby questioned

"He goes to daycare with a bunch of girls who are in ballet.. he said he wants to try it."

"Are they going to put him in a tutu?" Colby asked, and his wife's eyes met his

"No," she shook her head, "but would you have a problem with it if he wanted to wear a tutu?"

"Of course not" Colby shook his head. "If it makes him happy" he shrugged

"What would everybody think of your son running around in a tutu?"
"I think anybody who says something about my son in a tutu is stupid in the first place. I can make their lives a living hell," he was serious now, "if my son is happy, he can wear whatever he wants, do whatever he wants, as long as he treats everybody with respect and kindness like we've taught him. I don't care if he's the quarterback of the football team or the first male ballet dancer at the studio.. I'll be in the stands either way."

"I love you. You know that?" She questioned

"Really?" He asked with wide eyes, and she nodded. "Well, that's a relief," he kissed her quickly, "because I love you."
